Rasul Gamzatov’s book “Dagestan” brought me here. I learned that there are more than 14 languages in Dagestan (avar, lezgin, lak, tat..etc) and learned the names of some of villages like makhatchkala and tsadasa. I was fascinated by Gamzatov’s description of people and rocky mountains of Dagestan. I read about the honorable history of Imam Shamil, may Allah bless his soul. I was introduced to a lot of Dagestani traditions and sayings. The most important, I learned that “Dag”means the mountain, and “stan” means the land, so Dagestan means “mountains land”. I guess Dagestan is a magical cultural fusion. I would like to be there some day. Much love from Jordan. ❤️

Hi there, thanks for this beautiful and very interesting movie. I am Italian and did not know that much about Dagestan other than the name itself. Thanks again and keep showing Us those marvelous places.
