He doesn't. In animation you have to animate SOME frames, but there's the Frame interpolation. To put it simply if you need something go from A to B in a straight line in 1 second you just need 2 keyframe, the first and the last. Then if you need more complex path you add more keyframe or more complex stuff like path animation, but you'll NEVER end with a keyframe every frame. Nevertheless i love Soviet, it's a great editor, love his stuff.

This is the exact reason why SovietWomble is the best channel I have ever seen in my life. He has the tenacity to work every scene, frame by frame. Before using Adobe AE, he used Vegas Pro to edit his videos, and it took a really long time to manually track every text that he had to add (that's why the moment I knew Womble's channel for the first time, I was like WTF??? Who does frame-by-frame tracking? As a novice video editor, I won't do this because it is painful and takes a lot of time). Secondly, he understands what he should do for every spoken word so that viewers could read those words comfortably. There are also several points that (I think) makes his video quality is really high: 1) Even after everything that Womble does seems really complicated, he keeps everything really simple. Besides editing the subtitles, he also edits every scene audio. If you watched his stream and saw a Bullshittery content, you can hear the difference between that and his uploaded Random Bullshittery. 2) He actually does not arrange the sequence in streaming order (which one is first, then the second one). He arranges his videos in a plot. I watched his stream on Viscera Cleanup Detail, and some scene is in different order than his Random Bullshittery. 3) One thing that most people should notice: ZF. Well, particularly Cyanide. This curry guy is somehow funny. His accent and behavior make people really like him. ZF contributed a lot of content in Womble's video (Edberg rages, Nep stretches, etc). Remember that if ZF does not exist, we won't see those videos. 4) British accent mate. I mean, it is British accent. These combinations (above) has never, ever seen in other youtube channels. That's why I am 99.9% sure that SovietWomble will be in top 100 most subbed channel in less than 2 years.

Just actually started watching Womble last week, but his videos proved to be very catchy and effective to me that I sometimes subliminally use his editing styles in my work (as a video editor and content producer), though of course with different intentions come different styles. Point is, with great captured material comes better ways in editing, and these decisions that he made (when to track text, how to display text, use of consistent fonts, etc) were just there to spice up the content that he makes with ZF. Hence, we should be also thankful for ZF (especially Cyanide, but don't let him see this!) for their participation in this. And of course, Womble is a faggot.

When I first watched his videos, what IMMEDIATELY stood out too me was the editing. It was so generic but so unique that I've never seen anything like it, even to this day. I couldn't quite place what it was but then I realized (with some help) that it's because 1. when he wants to make something funny with subtitles, he brings attention to it and does so creatively. 2. gives it flavor in someway, and it's usually a combination of animating it and changing the color of the text and/or placing the text in the spot where the text SHOULD go, not just in random spots or covering up the entire screen with three letters. He has one of my most favorite style of editing that I've ever seen and I've seen others mimic it but not replicate it perfectly. He certainly stands out in the community. He can take simple comedy and amplify it with a well timed edit that doesn't rely on bass boosting or zooming in quickly and pixilating the image. Just adds some quirky text or a small overlay or underlay of an image.

The text in his videos are a major part of why I enjoy his content so much. Also, I understand why it takes so long for him to get videos out. You can't just have a recording session one day and then have the final video pumped out within a day with the kind of quality that Womble puts into his videos. They take time. Good job on the break down by the way, I enjoyed watching it. You've earned a sub from me.

If you look into one of his PUBG bullshittery videos, you can actually see Womble editing the subtitles as if they were shadows on the game, you can legit see him animate the shadow of the text he puts and it even moves on par to how he moves his character in the game. Seriously, the time and dedication this man has for detail is amazing.
@vincenttorrijos9680

The fact he adds shadow to text that's visible even when the text itself is no longer on screen, such as his more recent arma videos, gives it such a wonderful magic to view. It gives the subtitles such a wonderful sense of reality. The text isn't just making it easier to process the video, it becomes a part of the video

The videos he uploads here are multiple clips from Twitch streams. Since he doesn't stream every day and it takes a while to properly isolate the clips and edit in the subtitles, it stands to reason that it'll certainly take time for a good Bullshittery episode to be posted.

One also gotta respect his video scheduling. A few weeks ago Soviet mentioned in his stream again his production cycle: of 5 freakin' weeks!! with the last week purely collecting and fixing from feedback of other reference viewers. He does an amazing job!! Shame though that it takes multiple weeks for his videos, but otherwise the quality couldn't be up there where it stands as is. Congrats to Soviet and this vid, really pointing out the genius behind the craft!!

Really well made video, you hit home the points that I personally love about Soviet's videos so much. I've only recently heard of Soviet, but I ended up watching every upload he has over the course of a few days because they're so beautifully done. I love the effort and attention to detail he puts into every video. I have truly terrible vision, it's bad enough that whenever I get my yearly examination to update my prescription they're shocked speechless for a good while, so keeping the text the same font, and having nice easy to read colours, with a black border, is immensely helpful for me. I also have a hearing thing where I have a stupidly difficult time following multiple people talking at the same time unless I'm REALLY focusing, so the text lets me follow along without having to intensely stare at the screen as I focus. The smooth and absolutely flawless animation of the text is also fascinating, and adds so much to the comedy you have to keep watching, instead of just letting it become background noise. Overall, I greatly respect his style, effort, and general attention to the details - he cares about making quality content he's happy with, and it shows.

To be honest, I myself have tried using After Effect to track the text, its quite tough because 2D video games just doesn't register clearly enough as a real life video, the tracking never really worked. And even if it did, it just doesn't feel the same, it's hard to explain but I'm sure anyone who has tried both methods can understand me.
@Zancb
7 жыл бұрын
AE's tracking is primitive at best. When you have fast-moving action that blurs or distorts surrounding pixels around the area you want to track, it becomes quickly frustrating to the point where it's easier if you just do it frame by frame. What AE does is try to calculate linear "tweening" between X and Y coordinates, and when the tracking point(s) get distorted, the formula gets all fucked up.

KZitem actually recommended an excellent video sending yours my way! I became a fan of Womble and ZF thanks to my brother and I absolutely agree; his editing is easily the best with subtitles I've ever seen. The text has tremendous personality and in the case of "pew"s or "bangs" meant to show the viewer where someone is firing, it amplifies the humor in the scene so well.
