The rain was nice, I don't think we got much out of it, but it was nice. Looking at the field right now, I'm a happy camper! Thanks for watching, Rusty! Hope you have a good weekend!

Thanks Nelson! I'm glad for the rain, we aren't hurting for moisture like we were but we are still dry overall. I'm really happy with how they look, I wish the weeds weren't poking through but a few weeds aren't the end of the world. If you try beans next year, find out what herbicides work well in your area and get seed compatible with it. The first year I grew beans (2020) at a different field, my friend's neighbor gave us some seed it was for Roundup Extend (dicamba) and it didn't work worth a crap. My friend who owned the field had it sprayed twice and they never killed the weeds. That year was a nightmare. We put corn on that field the next 2 years, he moved after that so I don't have that field anymore. Last year was my first attempt at beans since then and I planted Enlist beans, and I've been really happy with them. But that's here, not your area, so find what works there! Thanks always for watching, commenting, and encouraging, Nelson! Hope you have a good weekend!

Looks good to me, but then, no one grows beans here.. a friend tried once. They were still green when the rains came in October.. they were still green when they went under water in November.. Thank you Evan! Hopefully they do well!!

Haha, yeah, no beans or corn even here, except in gardens.

That's pretty wild! When I cut the beans last fall, there was one spot in the field next to the road that was completely green. It's under a street light next to the road, and a friend of mine told me that if they are under a light they won't die until they get a frost. I'm hopeful that they do well, they are way ahead of my beans from last year. Thank you for watching, Ed! I hope you have a good weekend!

@@rustyoldmicrofarm4673 kinda crazy how the Midwest and farther east, can double crop and have beans mature.. ofcoarse some harvest in January.. we could never do that here.

A few years ago a farmer here planted corn and beans into the same field at the same time, harvested them together, and used a seed cleaner of some sort to separate the grain. I don't know if he's done that again, but he does a lot of "relay intercropping" planting wheat in strips in the fall then planting soybeans between the strips of wheat in the spring. It makes some interesting looking fields.
