A meeting was held between SP, Gangtok and the members of Bagdogra Taxi Owners Welfare Association, Central Joint Action Committee, Local Taxi Gangtok, TAAS and All Sikkim Luxury Vehicle Assocation today evening to discuss the issue of Sikkim police manhandling two West Bengal drivers on May 29.
SP has assured an investigation would be initiated against those policemen reportedly involved in the manhandling.

A healthy communication and dialogues were shared between the WB(Siliguri)Taxi drivers association, Bagdogra Taxi driver association, WB(Siliguri) luxury taxis associations, TAAS( Sikkim) which was conducted by SP/East in presence of SHO Sadar PS and officers in Gangtok today.
Various ideas were shared to strengthen the communication between Bengal and Sikkim Taxi driver association in view of ongoing tourist season.
All possible help was assured and a whatsapp group formed which included Bengal and Sikkim Associations to cater to any immediate help between the two neighboring states in terms of smooth passage of tourist, temporary parking facilities allocated to WB Taxis who comes to drop at Gangtok during evenings.
Furthermore an enquiry is being initiated about the videos going round in social media regarding ill treatment received by two WB Taxi driver yesterday and if any duty personnel are found guilty full assurance given to the victim that strong action will be initiated as per law.
Subsequently the various associations were satisfied by assurance given by SP/Gangtok and seeked for more cooperation like this in future.
