Not sure if you are speaking from the perspective of an adult or a child, it doesn't really matter other than context for my reply. I can give my honest perspective as a parent of two children with disabilities, one with C.P. and seizure disorders. The truth is sometimes it is a burden because there is fear, physical exhaustion, frustration, uncertainty, etc. It is a burden you would never imagine not taking on for your child. The only thing worse for a parent is the thought that their child would be afraid to ask for, or take, help. As for other people, the world is made up of two groups of people, those who move towards problems and try to help or those who move away and avoid. That is all about them and not you. Take help from those who offer, don't spend too much time thinking about those that don't.

Yes. You are. They wanted to publicize this to raise awareness for the condition. Not to exploit her in a moment where she was vulnerable. It’s a common way to raise awareness for various seizure conditions, but especially post seizure care, and what to do leading into, and during a seizure as well. Hope this explanation helps!

For whomever this may be applicable, you might want to look into the possibility of what is called a "nasal trumpet" to use in lieu of an oral airway. You'll probably need a pediatric size. These are not all that hard to put in but can be very uncomfortable, possibly painful getting in. It's a good thing to consider if her breathing gets much worse than what is seen here. I'm glad to see that the woman trying to put the oral airway did NOT try to force her mouth open.

I agree. But! What really irritates me is the fact the dad yelled for a bowl so she could use if she may have thrown up or something and the mom said she wasn’t worried about that because she was recording! Like no, in my book as a mom I’d put the camera down and worry about my child first and foremost. I get if you’re trying to educate others but sorry not sorry the mom was only worried about getting a video. The dad was great. He took charge. I just wish the mom would have been a bit more helpful and not yell back at her husband who clearly sounded a big panicked when he thought his daughter was going to throw up or whatever and the mom literally said (and go back yourself and listen carefully) I’m not worried about that bc I’m recording. Wtf seriously 🤨 Nah your kid comes first before a camera to be in her face.

@@trahira9585 Exactly! If the mother was like this in the video yelling over having to get things so her child is safely taken care of then I’d hate to see her off camera. That’s no mother in my book. I get it if it’s for educational purposes but sometimes a camera isn’t needed. And you can educate people about certain things without the actual visuals being on the internet for all to see. That child isn’t stupid and probably gets embarrassed when they post this idk 🤷♀️ Just my opinion on it though. I’d be more worried about my kid than worrying about if the angle is good on camera.

I couldn't imagine my child going through this and the difficulties for her and the hard and emotional work taking care of her, but however I don't understand the mother's thinking that it was more important to capture this event on camera ( honestly it didn't look like dad was understanding why she felt the need to capture this traumatic event on video either) the only important thing at that moment was to care and help her. I apologize in advance for this part of my comment. Thank you for sharing but honestly we don't need to video all parts of our lives and post them online for the world to see. Well, there is really nothing you can do when you are having a seizure. I assume the parents are used to the seizures, so they know what to do. When I have one of my seizures, people wait it out and let me recover. And that works perfectly fine. (the seizure ain't fun tho). They did the right things, like turning her on her side and keeping her from choking on her saliva. Sometimes, it is a GOOD thing to record a seizure. This gives visual info to neurologists. It may appear a bit cruel to you, seeing that parents do nothing, but they have everything under control.

The dad was doing pretty well to deal with her daughter. To some extent I do agree with you about more help with the girl however, The fact that she did record it may have been invaluable in terms of someone being able to figure out what is going on. The reason I say this is that there may be no consistency as to when these seizures are happening and the chances of getting the girl into a doctor's office at just the right time for them to see a seizure are pretty slim. Plus they may end up going through a number of doctors before they get someone who may have an idea. Having the one video to be linked to what medical professionals need it. This would simplify many things and allow the parents more time with the child. 🙂

@@M.M__-None of it is as simple as that. The type of seizure and her medical conditions dictate when she gets the medicine and what type. As for what she is thinking about her mom, she is probably post-ictal, which would mean she is coming out of the seizure but not particularly oriented or alert. It has been described to me as like waking from anesthesia. The best thing for her is what she is getting, people she knows, holding her close and doing familiar things as she recovers.

@@M.M__- My point was, it may not be a rescue medicine and timing may not matter. Since they didn't explain anything about her diagnosis, history, or type of medicine we are just speculating. I do not believe she was doing this for views. The channel has one video and no explanation. The video has the default file naming generated by a camera or phone. I'm guessing they uploaded this as a means of sharing it with someone specific, maybe not even realizing it would be public. Please don't be so quick to assume bad things about her. They are clearly dealing with a horrible situation. Sometimes, in times of desperation, we do things differently than we would if we had time to think them through.

I supported a young woman with cerebral palsy, she also had seizures. Even though she struggled with communcation, she absolutely understood everything that was said to her. This poor girl has her own mother discussing her periods, denying her medication and completely disrespecting her and her privacy, all for her own self satisfaction of making a youtube video! I found this video as it just popped up, I won't be watching anymore from this woman.

I see a lot of people saying that it was mean of the mother and father to not get drastic medical help. Well, there is really nothing you can do when you are having a seizure. There is a possibility (like in the video), that rescue meds can be given.

After two days of high fever my 16 yo son had his first seizure-very scary. I thought he was dying and I cried to Jesus 😢 I’m going to contact his doctor today.
