dang bro this is the first space shuttle video i ever watched, i discovered this when i was just 4. Because of my brain, and when i saw that van go past the shuttle,i thought there was a highway under the shuttle, and if the rocket launched when we were under it, i would be doomed. Thanks to many more space shuttle videos, it seems that thought in my mind is no longer thinking that. Altough i still think of these memoires on occasion.

Saw a night launch in 1996. I was 7 miles away and the heat coming from it felt like the sun hitting your face on a 90+ degree summer day! In 7 minutes it was already over England and by the time I got out of the parking lot, It flew all the way around the world!!!! AMAZING!

Amazing. And what about those flying little creatures? Were they birds or drones?
The space shuttle was a good reliable workhorse, in my view it was retired too early, we should have run it far longer. Rockets are boring in comparison.

While the Space Shuttle worked, its conception was only a "when", not "if" the next problem would come up. After STS-51-L, the return to space mission, STS-26R, had the biggest heat tiles destroyed during reentry, they got exremely lucky that the shield melted with the under layers. We were also extremely lucky the only real disaster with the orbiter was with Columbia (Challenger wasn't due to the orbiter, weather related) as since the very beginning of the program with STS-1, the tiles was a problem well known by NASA but back then was they were too cocky until STS-107. Not even mentionning the wings protection that was supposed to be several dozens of centimeters thick but instead was only a few centimeters thin. I could suspect they made it thinner to save more weight but wasn't announced in the design.

Oh aren't they using space shuttles anymore then ? Just psychologically believe your kitchen is another country ( planet ) and the border panel ,separating the kitchen from the opposite room is your country ( planet Earth) and do teleportation , it's cheaper and inexpensive

At less than 2 minutes going 1000 miles per hour, that's 3 to 4 times the speed of a commercial aircraft. Impressive! What I find interesting is that it already burned up half it's fuel. How do you travel for days to the moon and come back?. At 2:10 she says, it is ready to study the earth! I've studied the earth already for 30 years without spending a whole paycheck. Now that's impressive.!!
