Yep, definitely makes it relatively affordable to shoot compared to most other milsurp bolt actions.

Interesting video, So far I don’t have either of those. If I did, I’d probably go with the 2a1.

Love my FR-8 mines runs like butter as long as I use 7.62 Nato rounds..... Sights are spot on just wished that the 100yd. rear sight was also a peep not the V notch.... Plus the bore looks new and the whole rifle looks great from butt stock to flash hider...

that 2a1 is closest to a modern bolt action ever issued and if you wanted a battle rifle but were limited to ban state either is a good choice

True, unless one’s goes for something pretty expensive like a Garand or FN-49.

I have an Spanish FR8 And an Ishapore 2A1 as well as a Spanish 1916 Mauser also a Israeli K98 all chamber in 7.62x51 😍 the FR8 is my favorite to shoot my least favorite is the 1916 it’s a small ring action.

The only problem with and weapon conversion to another caliber is often they have cycling issues or extraction problems if your ok with that then either sell the gun or exaggerate the reliability of the gun😀

Nice rifles and good channel too good sir. If you haven't already, look up Mojo Sights; they make excellent peep sights for milsurps, including the SMLE/2A: i had one on my 1941 Lithgow sporter. That gun wasn't very accurate unfortunately, but the sight was first rate...kind regards to you.

Why do you operate a bolt action rifle like a 9 year old? The idea is to keep your sight picture and on the fr8 run it snappy.

You’re not very observant for someone so condescending. I’m left-handed and bolt guns are more of a fun hobby for me than anything else. What’s your excuse for commenting like a 9 year old?

The FR8 seems to have a gas cylinder under the barrel. Do we know why it has that?

@@bmcc12 this is actually a storage compartment for a cleaning kit and also resembles the charging handle tube on the CETME (although on the bottom rather than top).

Ummm......maybe do a side by side with the Spanish FR7 (turned down bolt) or even the Indian Ishapore Jungle #7 in .308? 🙂 Then again, maybe I should as I have ALL FOUR. Oh, the good '0 days of collecting & having a FFL 03! Weeeeee
