Mark... no one comes close..the astonishing and utterly beautiful and fragile music that you created - whilst struggling with your demons - is such a massive tonic and inspiration to so many music lovers - as they struggle with theirs.. The word genius is WAY over used. It doesn’t begin to do you justice. RIP my friend.

Elliott Smith is similar and probably even more talented. But yeah I prefer Sparklehorse lately

I wish the man could have known how much he would later be missed. I am so grateful that during a concert of his, here in Amsterdam, we all got together as a crowd and were utterly respectfully silent yet sang along to the most beautiful widow in town. Mark was visably and vocally moved as were we all. There was magic there and it was his music that was the soundtrack to that magic, just like his songs were the soundtrack to our university daze. Memories.

I thought Weird Sisters was maybe a reference to the fictional Harry Potter band, but i guess this song was written a couple years before the 1st book

Both. Check out Wonderful Life, or Good Morning Spider, (my personal favorite). He had a really unique, intentionally low fi production style.
