I just love seeing families reunite. I was raised with my mom and dad. But we adopted my cousin when my aunt passed away. I was 6 and she was 4. She didn’t know her dads side and I saw how that still affects her today. Her dad isn’t the greatest guy- he actually kept my aunt addicted and feeding her drugs until she overdosed at only 23. :( my sister longs for family connection and it breaks my heart she doesn’t have that from her dads side. Adopted kids deserve more. A beautiful adopted family is great, but they deserve to know all their biological family too. I’d love to adopt if we could…. Just hard as a military family that moves so much. :(. Love seeing these stories.

More people need to be like Trent. Stop blindly believing everything your mother says about your birth father and see for yourself

How did they find Sharon's family connection? From all the islands it seems difficult. Great story.

They obviously asked around and it took a while. Sharon was born in Australia and they would have looked up her mother’s details and found out what country she was born in

Indiegogirl you need to put this on Facebook it will be shared like crazy. I always wanted to meet my dad too but he died when I was 12. I hope you have a lot better luck. My mom and dad were married and they broke up and I was the second youngest of six children I was 18 months old. My mom take us to our grandparents shortly after he left and her little sister woke up and she was going out front door with a laundry basket. She asked her where she was going and said to do her laundry we didn't see her for 10 years. That was some dirty laundry.

Sorry but to me Sharon seems totally ungrateful for the parents that raised her. She said nothing of her gratitude towards them. 😕

Agreed. She claims it was hard growing up with a white family (who did their best to make her feel like she was part of the family) only to marry a white guy. Then state she wishes she’d grown up in Fiji, despite her mother chosing Australia over it

Sharon always felt that she didn't fit in with her family because they were of a different race but she goes on to marry a man of that race.

Sharon’s family didn’t care about race and raised her if she was their own blood. Just because she wasn’t white she cared about it. They didn’t. And the irony is she married a white guy

Are they biological? adapted parent is not bad word it’s actually good because they choose you not because they have to , my siblings always tease me that am adapted since am the youngest my father use to laugh and say Adaptation is privilege and biological parent is responsibility! Most bio parents they raise kids out of expectations and see it as burden while most people who adapt choose to be parent!

She mentioned they tried their best but it seems like Sharon just decided that she was different and didn’t want to be with people of a different colour which is ironic since she married a white guy
