I wonder if the Kabar will cost 400 dollars plus, I wish they can keep it around 350 or so even if it is s45vn.

It's the new hotness. And it's really good stainless steel. Incredible edge retention and good toughness while remaining stainless to a decent degree. Good luck sharpening in the field though.

It's cpm-m4 edge retention. Cpm-cruwear toughness. Lc200N levels of stainless while not being a stainless steel. Ease of sharpening I do not know. I guess that depends on the heat treat. The problem with Magnacut has been just that. There is little room for error with its heat treat. At least that's what I've gathered from looking into it. There is a great video of knife steel needs, the man that created cpm-Magnacut, in which he explains everything about the steel. Me, I love my 154cm, cpm-154, s30v trio, m4, and cruwear. S35vn and s45vn have been amazing steels in regards to everything I've put them through. I have a Greg Gersh 940 Magnacut blade. I've tested it out and it's been good. I haven't noticed a real difference yet. Also to me, how stainless a steel is does not dictate if I buy it or not. I don't care if it is or isn't. My most used knives have been the mini adamas in cruwear, a 940 in M4, a XT1 Alpha in s35vn, and a Zaan in s45vn. And I've loved every minute of them. S45vn has really surprised me. The edge retention seems off the charts and it's been nothing but tough. It was destined to be the next great steel, in which it is and is being used by many manufacturers. It's just been overshadowed by magnacut and the knife crowd is just clamoring for it to be used on everything. So the manufacturers have been taking note and they've been slowly implementing it when they can.
