I am almost 80 with more Scottish DNA in me than English also a mixture of Scottish, English, Irish, Welsh and Scandinavian, I have now started learning Gaelic before I pop my clogs, the video's are very good and it is coming along pretty well, I must admit I should have taken it up long ago. Hello Malcolm, I also have more Scottish DNA then English, and I'm also a mixture of Scottish, English, Irish, Welsh and Scandinavian, but I'm 65. We must be long lost brothers. I'm also leaning Gaelic and was wonder if you would like to write to each other in Gaelic? Dabhaidh Mac Domhnaill

Hello. These are great videos but I have a question about when they were produced. The date under the title says 2019 but the hairstyles and clothing scream the 1980s. Is this a long-running series that has been resurrected with the increased interest in folks learning to speak Gaidhlig?

@W. Redburn I've detected at least four different accents among the 12 or so voices on the Duolingo app so far, and from various videos, radio programmes and podcasts I've listened to over the past 5 months, there are probably at least half a dozen more.

I believe this dialect is common around Glasgow, and it's widely understood. I've heard native Irish speakers say it sounds like Ulster Scots speaking Irish.
