I've got one over 25 years old. Also the S.O.B. and their wallet. Which I still use on a daily basis.

They make some great stuff. I did use the wallet on deployments, and gave it to my uncle. Spec Ops makes some durable products. I had flashlight holders, magazine holders, knife sheaths, and holsters from them (probably in my garage somewhere). They all held up well.

Yeah. If you get SpecOps you'd better like it, because it's gonna be around forever.

I do like good packs. Some popular ones I have not been impressed with. I have a Savotta Jaakari I like. It’s a neat patrol type pack. Never got into Mystery Ranch packs, but friends like them.

Looks similar to my pack.. I like the black instead of the camo version better

If I got a do over, I would have probably gotten green. But the black does wear well and not look too dirty or faded.

My only gripe on SpecOps is that they didn't upgrade the SOB with PALS webbing. And now they've dropped it.

It came out at time when the Military was transitioning from Cold War era tactics to urban fighting. When I was light infantry at Fort Ord, everyone had LCE ALICE suspenders with butt packs. By the 2000’s we were going with vests and more chest carry (prior to 9/11). Post 9/11 was roller coaster for gear/body armor. In the end, it went back to my origins of “fight light”…
