What I love about Sanucces is that it has survived and come FULL CIRCLE throughout all the martial arts fads. Funny how now GRAPPLING and Close Quarter Combat, and practical personal defense is "all the rage" in the Martial arts community, something that Sanucces practitioners, NEVER Stopped doing, and NEVER to this DAY in the top Magazines EVER get credit for.

Dear Brother Sayfullah, I can only say that not only am I very proud of you, I know without a doubt that Doc. would be well pleased! You are one of the few that are holding on to the Truth that Doc. taught. His legacy lives through those like you that teaches from the heart soul and love of a great man that we all saw in our dear teacher of teachers. As he smiles upon, you so do I with grace and respect. I would be honored to share the floor with you. Blessings! Anakhanda Shaka Mushaba

I don't know of any Sanuces Schools in Australia at this point, but I am willing to come to Australia if there is a desire for Sanuces there. Please contact Me if You know any organization that is willing to bring Me and My two assistants over to Australia. Thank you very much. Oss!

The technique beginning at 8:26 is complex and executed very rapidly, smoothly, and seamlessly. What are the different holds/locks used in combination? The technique seems to begin as a wrist hold, then morphs into a wrist and finger lock, then adds an arm lock, adds a head lock, followed by a final take down.

Ryū in the martial arts: Japanese martial arts are often classified and codified into ryūha. Usually a given style will have its own curriculum, ranks and licensure system. These may be based on the parent style or a combination of sources that form the background of the system. The name of a style may have particular meaning or may simply be a location. Toyama-ryū is named for the Toyama Military Academy in Japan.

There is Classical, Traditional & Modern Jiujutsu/Jiujitsu. Sanuces Ryu is from Family of JiuJutsu and is accepted and listed as Modern Jiujutsu. Remember, the name of a style may have a particular meaning and SANUCES means "The Simplicity of Survival". This UNIQUE SYSTEM OF STREET SURVIVAL has been accepted all around the world, including Okinawa Japan and China. Thank You for your comments and interest in Sanuces Ryu, founded by The Legendary Dr. Moses F. Powell. Osu! EYE-TO-EYE!

Thank You sanuces 1804 for your comment and inquiry. I am striking the back of the hand (metacarpal) with a fore knuckle strike, which makes the hand open up for Me to grab the fingers and bend them upwards. I then reverse the fingers as My opponent is going down and place the fingers and wrist into a reverse gooseneck lock. I then add a hammer lock as I bring My opponent up into a rear neck twisting chin hold. I finally put My opponent away with the good old descending clothesline technique.

The name of a style may have particular meaning or may simply be a location. Toyama-ryū is named for the Toyama Military Academy in Japan. In contrast, Gōjū-ryū is the 'hard-soft' style, which indicates both characteristic techniques and thematic elements that form a 'signature' of the style. Sometimes this is merged or confused with the name of the dōjō (as is the case with Shōtōkan-ryū karate).

I am presently studying under Salahuddin Muhammad Sensei, who is the top student of Okazaki Shuji (Tanemura Katsumi) Sensei, who is a student of Yoshida Kotaro Sensei, who is the top student of Sakaku Takeda of Daito-ryu Aikijujutsu. I Thank The Legendary Dr. Moses Powell and Grandmaster Nathaniel McBride for developing Me as a child 48 years ago as a Sanuces Ryu Warrior.

Interesting. Better than some of the other demos I've seen on this. For me, it's closer to hapkido than any form of classical jujitsu, as it lacks the flow and technical finesse of a koryu. But I appreciate the mindset of what you're teaching and how you're teaching. It's not a ryu, though.

High-level practitioners of an established style may splinter off and form their own derivative styles based on their own experience or interpretation. Sometimes this is encouraged by the parent style, sometimes it represents an ideological schism between senior members of the style. Sometimes, it is done simply for 'marketing' reasons or to adjust a system to modern times.

Thanks for your detailed explanation of this complex technique. The transitions between movements are so smooth that they seem almost effortless. Each hold/lock builds upon the other, and each also escalates pressure upon the opponent's wrist. Is the reverse gooseneck the most important lock in the series?

The concept of organizing a codified system is obviously not a Japanese or outwardly Asian one, though many international or foreign styles may adopt the nomenclature and systemization of koryū bujutsu ryūha in order to add an air of mystique or legitimacy to their system, or simply as a way to show respect to their roots and background

CYM2407 and BlackShinobiShozoku - I want to Thank You both for your Wonderful and Truthful comments pertaining to Ryuha and the use of the term Ryu in the Sanuces System. I hope that you both will be able to read this post since this response comes 9 months after your initial comments. When the Truth comes to Light Each of us have to make a decision as to either accept and apply that Truth, or to just ignore the Truth and continue on with ignorance and living a Lie. Sanuces is not a Ryuha, but

warriorwithindojo - you said it yourself: "Ryū in the martial arts: Japanese martial arts are often classified and codified into ryūha." The key word being Japanese, because it's a Japanese term used for Japanese martial arts, and not anywhere else. Sanuces is *not* a Japanese martial art, nor is it a branch of a recognised ryu, therefore it is not nor can it ever be a ryu. PS - I still can't reply to page posts for some reason. Sorry.

There is no universal licensing or ranking system across all ryūha. A high ranking person or black belt in one style does not necessarily correspond to a high level understanding in another style or group of styles. There are many ryūha in Japan that have existed for many hundreds of years, as well as many more that were created in modern times.

@oroge I hear what you saying about "no need" for props but it's still GROSSLY unfair. Self Defense In my view has ALWAYS been the rationale for learning a MARTIAL art. MARTIAL by it's very definition means WAR. and while it is something no sensible person looks forward to, once engaged we all hope WE WIN IT. If I want "self esteem" as the art is promoted nowadays, I'll take up basketball or modern dance.

All this is done by the co-operation of the student. You 'll never execute in a real fight for no one attacks in the way they are domonstrating. They are preparing the student for death and defeat out there.

jeangardy clervoyant black martial artist don't inflate a lot of pain on their uke . But you have to understand the process of learning and the pain that you can inflict on someone. It's not paying to wear he's hurting his student but it's pain to where you understand what's going on
