Im glad I decided to watch this. I haven’t gotten any feedback from ANYBODY I’ve asked about the workouts and getting sore. I tell people and they look at me like yeah you’re not working hard enough. Not to mention the gains have been STUPID FAST!!! I have to keep going back and looking at pics and the calendar and I’m like no it’s only been a few weeks. I started pushups and couldn’t do 13 in a set. Today someone asked about it and I was like well I haven’t done a max rep set in a week. I dropped and started doing pushups and knocked out FOURTY TWO!!! In ONE set!!! I’m almost 50. THATS NUTS!!! And NEVER felt it. Went to failure and not even the slightest hint in ANY muscle!!! I don’t think I know what to make of it myself and it’s me. How’s anyone else gonna believe it??!! Haha

My roommate constantly lecturers me and he can't understand my point of view.Can you.I also just had a colonoscopy and I am sure that the surgeon used a scalpel as the procedure was unbearably painful and before and after,I was bleeding as I was before.My doctor told me to eat more fibre and my roommate argues with that like he knows more than my doctor. He drives a super B which is 2 trailers and picks up and drops of wood chips and all he eats is steaks and ground beef.

Fabulous podcast. Thank you. Glad that you shared thoughts on eating disorders because it resonated with me. I suffered from Bulimia for 10 years, aged 24 to 34 and thereafter had tons of gut health issues. The eating disorder was came about due to a need to satiate something I was lacking. I used cheap carbs to soothe myself and then purge because of self discust. I was obsessed with food because I was on a merry go round of hunger, overfull, purge and wierd blood sugar swings. I avoided all meat and fat, believing them to be bad. I would be interested if carnivore could be used as a healing therapy for people with eating disorders.

Wow I can't believe she was eating five pounds of meat a day 😂. I thought eating two to three pounds was a lot. I guess I don't need as much meat. I do enjoy eating until I'm pretty full, and not being hungry a couple of hours later. I wish I could get my carb loving daughter to give the carnivore diet a try 😢

I was watching your interview with Kelly Hogan before this; it's interesting that Bella's story is almost identical to Hogan's: Both found that when they went carnivore, they craved meat and fat for a few months, and started getting fatter. They both decided not to worry about the weight gain, but instead to trust the process and let themselves eat as much as they wanted. Then (in both cases), at the end of 6 months, it was like a switch flipped and the weight started coming off, leaving them both in excellent health. As Kelly put it, it was like her body was craving nutrients they had been missing; for both women, it took six months to satisfy that craving.

Cassava and casaba sound very similar, especially in spanish, but they are very different things. I actually didn't realize you'd been mistakenly referring to the casaba melon until today. Cassava is a root and is also known as yuca, arrowroot, and tapioca. Your cyanide point is absolutely correct. Cassava is highly toxic raw or improperly cooked. Casaba melons on the other hand, are perfectly safe (disregarding the carbs, of course). Great interview! Would that I had her all in mentality. Hard to be a part of an online community without facebook and insta. Y'all here on KZitem are pretty much it for me. Sticking to it 99% though. Down almost 50lbs and my myocarditis resolved! I'm fascinated with the no salt thing Bella does. I need to know more. I actually think salt makes me more thirsty and in return I drink a lot more water which makes me need more salt like an endless cycle and yet even though I consume a lot of real salt plus electrolyte drinks I still have leg cramps at night. I'm wondering if I removed all salt, drink less water if I'll stop having cramps? Also curious, because she only drinks like 2 cups of water with her coffee a day if she gets uit's?
@garyfinch1840
2 жыл бұрын
Yes. There are many varied salt stories in the carnivore space. I believe it's related to each individuals level of kidney damage. Someone in their 40s on a standard diet would already have damage due to glycation which potentially changes the sodium retention capabilities. Switch them to carnivore and the sodium balancing act begins.
@anthonychaffeemd
2 жыл бұрын
Most often from what I've seen, leg cramps come from dehydration as opposed to low electrolytes. So you can salt to taste, or not at all, but try upping your water and see how you go

@@Livingtabitha I actually had the leg cramp problems for 2.5 months after starting carnivore and only came across the cause by accident. I tried adjusting my salt, electrolyte and hydration levels endlessly trying to sort it out with no success. Eventually, I went on holidays for a couple of weeks and after about a week, the cramps went away. Figured what had changed in my diet while on holidays and found I had really reduced my bacon intake. Did some googling and found some great research from the states that confirm that excessive nitrate intake can cause severe leg cramping, especially if there is any dehydration as Dr Chaffee said. I have now learnt to control my bacon intake and if I up it too much, the cramps return. Might not be relevant for you, but saved my bacon (pardon the pun) after going carnivore and having leg cramps every night for 10 weeks.
@Livingtabitha

@@craigbickley oh this is fascinating! I eat so much bacon. Sometimes 2-3 times in a day. At least a pound a day. I'm actually very hydrated. I drink at least 48 ounces of water a day and I'm very small and I don't work out. I pee constantly. I thought maybe I was drinking too much water but maybe it is the bacon.

I really hope they do my dad never did he first had emergency heart surgery and then two years later this. New Year’s Eve, he had a series of minor strokes and then he had two major strokes while on highest blood thinners which Drs called impossible. He died two days later I know if I’d got the research of people like Dr Chaffee rather than just my reactions, he would’ve been more likely to have tried it. I myself have had self diagnosed heart trouble (former emt and fire department) I know that in one month I am in perfect condition and can do unimaginable things on carnivore all symptoms gone. I also know when I went back to SAD a few times, it all came back within two months (my theory is the arteries are still inflamed a little and reintroducing the bad stuff causes a rapid plaque patch to form putting me back at stage one.) After studying the effect of going on and off three times, I am staying carnivore from now on. Good luck.
