Harlequin Rasboras are quite the pigs when it comes to food. Mine literally dive onto the food the second I start putting it in. I find them to be a little bit timid around people though. Even with me, they just swim away. I have four at the moment, but I do plan on getting some more.

I own 15 of them. They are a great shoaling fish and when you view them they are very handsome to see.I have them with a ID shark in a 70 gallon tank. Feed them Teyra Flakes.

I just added 10 of them to my 40 gallon breeder :) Added them to a school of 9 black neon tetra and they made the whole tank more active. They are about an inch long from the fish store here, can't wait for them to grow up.

I have a ten gal and was wondering if I could keep 6 dwarf corydoras, 5-6 harlequin rasboras, and a male betta together? I don't know if that's an overload but it would be great to have some advice!
@Leecrb1

Peachies would be a bit overload. I suggest you remove the cories and keep the betta and harlequins. I myself keep a betta and harlequin in a 10.

I have a 10 gallon and would love to keep harlequin rasboras with honey gouramis. How many h.rasboras and h.gouramis can I keep without over stocking with possibly adding other fishes later..?
@Reyma777
8 жыл бұрын
+ibuprofanity 6 or so Harelequins. The Honey Gouramis I would say 3 honey gouramis, the number of other fish would depend on their size.

How many could I do in a 5 gallon and what other fish could I get in with them in the 5 gallon?
@Reyma777
8 жыл бұрын
+Dani Antonia In a 5 gallon you could probably keep a shoal of 5 or 6, with no other tank mates. However, I would recommend keeping these fish in a 10 gallon or larger. There is a tiny cousin of these fish called Lamb Chop Rasboras, they would do better in a 5 gallon than Harlequins would, but they can be difficult to find.

Jean-Michel Gervais Try Black Ruby Barbs, they have husky build and are very peaceful. Danios would likely work despite their size, I highly doubt a fantail would ever catch a danio. ...

So I see your tank is planted like crazy. My plants are fake but they don't swim in them. They stay to the front of the take where it's more open. Do yours like the plants or ignore them like mine seem to do. Mind you I've had mine for probably 4-5 months and have never seem interested in anything in the tank just each other.
@Reyma777

The fish swim among the plants. Some fish don't like touching plastic.
@thesailorette2091
9 жыл бұрын
that might be it. Because I read that they prefer heavily planted tanks and well mine does have plants. So I'm going to go check your channel on how to START growing plants. If you don't have one you should totally make one. :) I'd be curious to learn. Just because it's frustrating to have a nice tank and then they don't really swim around except in one area! :/ Makes me just want to remove the plants all together. Thanks for responding. I honestly would have never thought it could be the plants texture itself!
@thesailorette2091

Yeah they are in a planted tank now. They do swim between those but most the time they are in the open. But I am happy to see them swimming between the real plants. I think they like it more!

So I have 6 in my ten gallon, it used to be 7 but it died of natural causes (I'm assuming) but once one passed away now they're fin nipping and attacking one another, does anyone know why that is?
@Reyma777
7 жыл бұрын
Angelica Bennett One Harlequin died, this may have altered the shoal hierarchy. The fish may be bickering with each other, to establish a new hierarchy in the shoal.

There are no major difference between the male and female, sexual dimorphism is slight in this species. Females are larger and have a plumper belly. Males are slimmer, smaller and slightly more colorful.

Another option, which worked for me, was to do a 15% water change (vacuum the gravel) at lights out for 10 days. When you replace the water add enough stress coat to dose the entire tank. Due to plants I didn't think salt would be a good idea and my cory's got stressed out quickly when I tried to bump up the heat.
