Amos, you consistently put out the best demo videos out there. Seriously well done! The video production, original bass lines and solid gear critiques from a pro player perspective are great. Appreciated!

I own this bass, and this is one of the best reviews on KZitem for a bass guitar. You captured it perfectly, but I'd also add that the ultra flat fretboard radius makes this bass insanely comfortable on your left hand. I own a Euro Spector as well, and while that bass is rad, this bass definitely captures the essence of Spector (and honestly may have a slightly better neck profile).

I came *this* close to buying a Pulse after trying the Ethos and the Dimension. I ended up with an Ibanez SD1300SB instead due to the neck profile (which is basically a Jazz profile that’s slightly shaved down). The Pulse felt much better in my hands than the other Spector models, which were too chunky for my tastes. Sounded great too!

I record a lot of my stuff on an ibanez then sometimes lie and say I did it on a fender jazz lol. I play an ibanez 1345b and that bass is awesome and can see why you like that neck. Not an expert but agree that the Pulse has the fastest neck of any Spector I've ever played.@@kkchristy

The first bass I built was arched front and concave back. I got the idea from holding a Fender Jazz bass and thinking how much more comfortable it would be if I could hold it closer to my belly. It feels slim and sexy. Good to see someone else figured that out too.

I really like the clear gloss wood type tops..., and I wish they would do more of them in the cheaper range.. Some of the colours they come up with are very "individual" and I would say 80% of them don't appeal to me at all.... These are great basses and I think they would sell loads more if they ditched the blue, mauve, red type stuff... The natural look is the way forward... I'd buy one!.., and one day when I have a spare £2.5k I'll buy one.. 🥳

As always Amos you never disappoint! This video is epic! I’ve learnt so much about bass from watching these! The humour, and the knowledge of all things audio and/or bass gear is amazing! Also the shake to make sure it was bolted on pretty good was epic!

I just recently ( today) found your channel. I have also watched many more of your reviews!! I can say without a doubt this is one of my favorite channels.( Believe me I subscribe to a great many channels for bass and guitar for many reasons) the reviews are honest, insightful, educational, and entertaining. I love the fact that when you are doing a review on a bass. You display your EQ settings on the bass and which pickups you are using very useful and I do wish more KZitemrs would do this!! After watching each and every video I do walk away more informed!! Thanks for sharing your talent and Chanel with all of us. Have an awesome day!!

Love the idea of an affordable Spector bass and I’d love to give it a shot. But I think it’s essentially the same as the schecter custom stilletto with the active pre amp, neck dimensions, and EMG active pickups. Schecter deserves more love for the affordable basses they put out.

Spector's are generally nice basses but they are not for everyone. I LOVE their necks, (half way between a P and a Jazz) but have tight spacing that Fender players may have trouble adapting to. The other thing is they hang differently on a strap since their strap button is around the 15th fret instead of the 12th compared to a Fender (and many basses) and the bridge is much further up the body than your typical Fender. Both of these details extend the reach distance to the nut quite a bit. This has a positive, but several drawbacks The frets further up the fretboard feel more in your wheelhouse, but reaching to the nut is much more difficult. Doable, but not ideal IMO. Love the look though.
@57precision

That was a dealbreaker for me with Spectors. Most of your playing is done in the first 5 frets so it never made any sense to make them further away. The NS Ethos I tried sure was beautiful though.

I didn’t get a chance to mess with one, unfortunately. I was a big fan of this one, and appreciated the build quality. I know Spector 5’s come with the soapbar pickups so I’m sure there’s some difference in the tone.
