Thanks Roberto. I really like this original version of the effect and tried to stay close to the original presentation.

My dad first learned about this trick from a book by the famous illusionist of the USSR, Alexander Vadimov, who described this trick in his book “Tricks on the Club Stage” (1959)

Hi Ledi - thanks for the information. Flexible Glass or Bending Glass (as it was known in the UK) was invented by British Magician Oswald Rae. It was first described in Oswald Rae’s book: Sub Rosa published in 1928 (Chapter IV, More Miscellaneous Tricks - Bending A Piece of Glass). And it obviously has been a worldwide hit ever since. Thanks for commenting.
