Thanks for the video. I have the same dryer, but my timer switch went bad. Everything else tested good with my meter. On that note, it might be helpful if you show others who are new to using a meter how to test the circuits you talked about. It would help them understand how it works. Again, thanks for the video and no disrespect, just a suggestion. Thanks.

Did that bad timer make your dryer not heat up? I know my timer is going bad I'm just not sure if that's the dryer not heat up. Thanks

@@TinoBamBeano I’m not a technician, but yes mine wasn’t heating until I put the new time in. I checked the heating coil and that was fine. There might be other issues with yours that I’m not aware of, but that was the problem with mine.

Thanks for your video! I have the same dryer and it went down yesterday. I did what you did and my heating element was broken too. I found the part on Amazon for $49.99. I just ordered it and it will be be here in “3” days. I’m so excited you posted my exact dryer. I believe we’ll be back in operation in 3 days! ❤️😁

Thanks for the video! My element was broke in the exact same spot. Dryer is only 2.5 years old. Easy fix. But shouldn't have needed it for the money paid for the speed queen.

This technician is spot on. I pulled the old one out and just laid the new one next to it and copied the wiring to the new one. Inspect your main black power lead closely. Mine had heat damage and I had to cut it back two inches to get into good clean copper again, and put a new slot clip on. AWith vacuuming and cleaning, this is about an hour job. Pro tip, use a magnetic driver head, or use a small piece of tape to hold your screw to the driver. You can't get two arms in this space.

Thank you for this video? Do you have a video on how to test continuity on the heating element? Or is it easier to just remove it and see if it's burned out?

Hey there Fast Eddie, I greatly appreciate this excellent video you put out. We own the exact same dryer and it also has the exact same problem, we're getting no heat. Where did you purchase the element kit, is it an original speed queen part, and how much $$$ is it? Could you please reply a-s-a-p? Thank you, sir!

Thanks for the video. My element is coming on sporadically. After cycling timer switch several times and tapping the top of control panel, the element will come on again. I'm thinking it might be the timer switch. Any ideas? thanks

Thank you for your post this the exact reason you have to replace the element as a kit the kit even comes with replacement ends for some reason the element and or the sensors developed a bad connection and the only way make sure it's right is to replace the element and sensors and local wires as needed

why not just the thermals? I've used a multimeter to determine it's one fo the thermal fuses that is bad, adn was hoping to save a few bucks (and time) just replacing that piece...
@Fasteddiesinhomerepair
6 ай бұрын
You can try it it kind of a 50/50. First off if the thermal fuse blows its because the hi limit thermostat it cycling to high so those have to be replaced together. And the other thing is I personally have found that there is times that if you replace just the thermals that sometimes the wires or elements developed a bad connection and you end up doing it all anyway but that is not every time so you do what you think but just remember I can't knowing leave this to question on a customers unit they want it fixed and i don't like recalls that are mine or my parts falt i want to be sure so I just do it all and it comes as a kit for a reason so I'm not the only one
@treysmith3103

@@Fasteddiesinhomerepair Thanks, I had a heck of a time finding just the fuse so I ended up ordering the whole kit. It's annoying because it's like the third time I've had to do this... We had our vents cleaned a couple of years ago, but maybe it needs it again, or maybe I need to go with a smaller hose.

Is there no way to get to the heating element from the rear?? Having to get on the floor seems like a real pain. The other thing which is a pain is heating elements do not last very long now. I remember a Maytag dryer/washer combo my wife and I bought in 1981 where the element lasted for over 15 years. Once we changed it, they lasted about 2 - 3 years. Honestly, it should be very possible to make them last much longer. Thanks for your video.
@Fasteddiesinhomerepair
Жыл бұрын
No there's no a way to get at it from the rear and some elements are not made the same the element material itself is thicker in some cases and the old maytag element had really thick element wire and the new stuff just keeps getting thinner that's why when you buy a cheap one from Amazon it doesn't last as long you almost have to get the factory one but they keep getting cheaper to
