The first time someone has explained why I couldn't find my Flap System! I somehow managed to set mine by creating a separate Mix assigned to the switch, but the values are all over the place. Will start again and do it properly. Thank you.

Wow, so I only get 1 flap/1Ail option in regular aircraft mode. Not in sailplane mode. Strange.

How about also adding the right knob also with elevator so amount of throw can be adjusted on the flyb

Hi BD great videos very informative, could you do a how to on the trainer set up I noticed there is a new category called "start trainer" not sure how that works can't much info on it.
@BDTennessee

I may be able to make one. The start trainer is for the wired mode. You can toggle that instead of a switch.

BD, Like your videos! I'm having a little problem with defining dual rates on one of my planes, defined on an NX 10. I'm seeing some hashes on the boxes that depict the switch position. I understand what the darken boxes or the clear boxes are telling me & the little box under theses. However, these hashed boxes are causing problems for my DR definitions & I can't figure out how to get rid of them. Any advice would be appreciated.
@BDTennessee
3 жыл бұрын
When that happens it means the switch position doesnt match the curve. Example: Switch your setting for rates is in Pos 1. The "Curve" which has a number on screen needs to be 1 and the box (0/1/2) at the bottom need to be highlighted which would be 1... When these are different you have gotten the cycle out of order it puts hash marks.

@@BDTennessee BD, thanks for getting back to me so quickly! I get what you are telling me, but after much playing around, I couldn't resolve the problem so I took the coward's way out & defined a new model. Better luck next time, I guess. BTW, I'm really impressed with your Spektrum NX videos..... nothing else like it on KZitem I believe.

A word of caution. That elevator mix also moves the end points. On my UMX Turbo Timber, I had elevator set to 50 down elevator at full flaps which gave a very smooth transition. Unfortunately, on go-around, that leaves almost no up elevator making climb out difficult until I get the flaps up.
@BDTennessee

Mix simply adjust up or down the elevator from the set position in flap menu. If you need more than 50 you can increase the number to 100.This is only changing the set "fixed" position of the elevator.Same as putting 50 in the elevator column of the flap menu. However something to mention. Having alot of down elevator for "transition" ,referring to keeping from ballooning when flaps deploy. Slow your flap deployment speed down to help,because more down elevator to offset "pitch up",more up elevator needed available to go pass neutral position and pull nose up to climb out. So not a issue using this mix, its using too much elevator one way and not having enough deflection/throw (rates or mechanically) to go the other way. Side note: 50 is high amount.I started to mention this in the video,then decided to answer it if it came up,which i appreciate your comment!

@@BDTennessee - Haven’t had a chance to test yet but slowing the flaps more seems like a good idea. That was kind of the plan prior to finding your videos on the subject of flap / elevator mix. I was running at 2 sec but will try more. I really liked your Advanced video. I have a DX8G2 but can do sort of the same thing you did except using the R Knob. I already have it set up. I reduced my elevator trim from 50 to 30. Then set the knob as an extra mix with a 30/30 range. That will let me dial in from 0 to 60 down. Once I get the characteristics I like, a little simple math and make it permanent.
@BDTennessee

@@marks7445 2sec is standard for most eflite planes. I standardize 4 sec on my planes. Some high wing planes or large flap surfaces i turned up to 6-8 seconds. One thing you will see 6-8 isnt really 6-8 total :) Thats sound like you got a good method too. Same as me ,do the transfer and make it permanent too.

good video. now my question. : your method is great..... when my ar630 is not in safe mode. when i put flaps down it starts to trim....then long delay....then "pops" to the full assigned elevator position! i have an nx 8, ar630 installed in a tundra. it balloons with flaps deployed, the elevator trim is moving in the correct direction, but somehow severely hindered in safe mode! works fine with safe off....any ideas?
@BDTennessee
3 жыл бұрын
You can minimize the ballooning by slowing down the deployment speed more.Safe mode will keep it from happening cause it correct plane to level flight.
@muskybob8726

@@BDTennessee i've been experimenting, it still happens. i think i'll try adding zero elevator and a flap deploy speed of 2 seconds and see if SAFE auto corrects the balooning. all my bnf planes work fine! its just this tundra pnp with ar630 giving me fits! your videos are superb!

@@muskybob8726 its not unusual to turn flaps on a high wing up to 4 and 6s deployment. Flaps throws make them produce alot of lift and 2 seconds is really like one sometimes...

@@BDTennessee i'm still working this problem. the problem is the elevator "jumps" half of the programmed deflection approx 2 seconds after flaps reach there determined position. i am reviewing all of your recent videos and go home and check all of my settings. my flight modes are on aux2, operated by switch c. when i go to flight mode 3 (safe off) it works perfect! possibly there is a flight mode issue with elevator trim? keep putting out the good content!
@BDTennessee
3 жыл бұрын
@@muskybob8726 i think that might be the issue. When you say the flight modes are on aux 2,did you change anything in the channel assign or rx port assign?
