My grandfather used to grow watermelons in a field. The best guarantee to get the sweetest melon is to make sure it has a yellow area on the skin (called a field spot) and when you knock on the melon it should sound hollow. It works every time.

I am soo glad I found you on KZitem! I am a single woman living in Slovenia. I am a teacher. I am not travelling anywhere this summer but watching your videos makes me calm and ready to enjoy my house and cooking and everyday activities. I usually make smoothies from watermelons. I add some frozen raspberries, a lemon and some ginger. I make enought for two or three days and keep the smoothie in the fridge. Love from Europe all the way to Japan!

Hello Nami, thank you for letting us share your graceful life. You have been such a blessing for all of us during this unsettled time. You have helped me to cope with my empty nest and to remember the time before my overworked life with 5 sons, and when they grew up, a busy job. I want to live more slowly, cook like you and enjoy the peace! Oh, and visit Japan one day 💕xx

I’m sure you don’t read all the comments it would be too time consuming. But, should you read this if you put sticky tape across the top of a container you are using for flowers you can get a better arrangement. Just do it in a cross pattern. Go one direction leaving space in between the strips of tape then do the other direction. In a grid pattern. Like a plaid or checkerboard. Put the flowers in the open spaces. They will stand up.

I'm glad that you love Italian food ☺️ Illy coffee is the top ☕️
the answer was: yes, this watermelon is okay to eat. I live in a country where we grow them everywhere and they come in all sorts of shapes inside, it is natural and perfectly okay. and that’s why we never cut them in half, because then the juice gets spilled. I am surprised you didn’t even try to taste it :) although in Japan where fruits cost crazy money it was probably wise to ask for a replacement so that you don’t lose any of it.

In Japan are very hight standards for fruit and vegetables, they look perfection, and also their products are controled every single day.Freshness is the key,any of tham could not stay more than 24 hours in stores and markets, after they have to put it in the garbagge.I think they are also so thin becouse they eat very fresh real food

I would have eaten the first melon but that's just me. Sad to see it get thrown away. Hopefully it got composted at least. I loved your kitty with sunglasses shirt. So adorable! Hi Nami Yes the white part of the watermelon can be eaten. When there is a lot of the white part we put in a jar and preserve it as a pickle. It is really yummy so even when it's not summer and you want to remind yourself of it just pull out a couple of the pickled white flesh of the watermelon and it takes back to summer in your mind at least! 😂 Also the sauce you made using ketchup and mayonnaise is really nice with cooked shrimps or prawns as we call them in Australia. You can even add a dash or two of tobacco if you like a little spiciness! ❤️
