During my vacation in Gemünden am Main, we discovered this historic route. From Eckarts / Wernarts to Würzburg (the actual course of today's A7) a motorway was started to be built from 1933 to 1939. Nothing came of it... In 1939 the construction work was stopped because of the Second World War. Every man was needed at the front. After the war in 1945, the Allies blew up parts of this route and took some building materials with them as repair costs.
Today you can still find traces of this route 46 and that's exactly what I show in this video. Luckily, nature has taken some things back.
I wish you a lot of fun looking in.
See you soon Thomas
