This is a member of the genus Nephila, an orb-weaver spider. They are known to produce very large round nets with strands that may appear yellow or golden in sunlight. Like most spiders it is venomous and might deliver a painful bite if provoked. However their venom is not potent enough to be dangerous to adults and they generally prefer to flee rather than attack.
