The only reason I haven''t purchased any of these brand or knock off rapid swagers is because they seem like drill killers. I use a manual tube expander, gets the job done without killing your drill or battery

I think your Grove slippery maybe that why it not go that well. I just think impact will beat out the drill anytime

So should we use them with impacts only? I bought the m12 impact kit w/hammer drill driver. I guess my m12 hammer drill is useless 😂

Big congrats to winner. I’m surprised that you have hard time to swage with drill. I do use swage flare bits that I bought from Johnstone and drilled it no problem. Thanks for sharing sir.

dude doesnt know how to use drill settings, wouldnt let him install any hvac system at my house, blames the swedge kit rather than his lack of knowing how to use tools XD

So I could be way off but I think the heat from the bigger drills was work hardening the pipe which made it harder to swage

Growing up I was a DeWalt fan because that is what my stepdad used. Now that I have tried Milwaukee, I ain’t going back. The 12v is surprisingly powerful for that small of a package.

One thing I use beside m18 fuel impact is the medium torque impact and put a chuck adaptor on it, definitely gets enough RPM

Maybe these bits work great on some of these cheaper line sets that some of these distributors are selling, I know some of these line sets will kink just using a tube bender
@HVACToolReview

They definitely work better on those cheap ultra thin walled line sets 😂. They also work better on the smaller sized soft copper

Congrats to Justin! Another well made video, great comparisons! Actually very surprising that the M12 beat up on all them so badly... especially with the RPM recommendations

That’s really surprising with the m12 impact being the best at swage. I assume since you heated up the last pipes that they were ACR, was the first test ACR as well? I agree with you on the flare kit. I find it difficult to get your drill perfectly aligned with the pipe. I have went back to my orbital flare tool. They come out looking great every time. Thanks for putting together this giveaway. Congratulations to the winner!!!!!!

Yes they work much better on the smaller sizes. Especially the soft rolls. All the manufactures say they work on hard drawn too so wanted to try it out and the largest size hard drawn pipe.

Was that hard or soft copper? That sick after the 20v dewalt where u lost grip looked like plumbing hard copper. Those tools only meant for soft.
@HVACToolReview

Tried both, and they claim it can do hard copper. The friction is supposed to heat up the piping and anneal it

Why are you torturing a drill on a hard copper pipe it is meant for soft copper.
@HVACToolReview
3 жыл бұрын
Because they state in their manual that it works on hard copper by using friction to heat up and anneal the pipe. Obviously it doesn’t work that well. Had to test it out

Yeah I kind of agree, if you were needing to run a whole bunch of swages back to back to back this is probably not a good choice. If you occasionally need to run a few, it’s not terrible, gets the job done
