I think the most amazing thing is that before they even started filming Spinal Tap, they created a whole biography for all the band members and the band. This is why it all seems so natural: the discography may be fictional, but they know it so well it might just as well be real.

I'm amazed how they nail that non descript southern England suburban accent with a hint of mid Atlantic lilt. Jagger, Keef, Bowie, Beck, Page... they've all got it.

+freddiepoos I don't like it when comedians laugh. It rips you out of the act and kinda ruins it. Good comedy should always be pulled off like this.

Still. Maybe they don't break not only because good actors but I guess they wrote the scripts for the movies. They know their material.

Did you not know that the spinal tap movie was 100% impro for their dialogues ? They only had a basic plotline and stayed in character most of the tour

Nigel's unshakeable belief in his own higher intelligence is wonderful 'I've done some research,..' offset by the 'no one's at home 'face when he's not actually talking

We played 'Short And Sweet' for two hours, it's all about how long you can do it, without being..... dead. And it's also just one chord, good ol' E chord, good enough for your granddad, good enough for you! That was 59 minutes of my time well spent. Thanks David, Nigel & Derek.

Unfortunately, Fred Willard left us. He was fantastic as well. The whole troupe that are in the “mockumentary” films are all hilarious. I love all of them. A Mighty Wind just might be equal to Spinal Tap.
