Hi. I have a question for you. I bought the PENN spinfisher V 3500 reel and after pulling out of the box it goes quite hard and from what I saw in the other reviews it is much smoother. So is it normal that sometimes it goes harder and then it gets better or should i send it away for warranty Best regards :)

I don't get what's so hard about putting a physical contacting seal under the spool like the Spheros and Saragossa has. It doesn't matter how much hydrophobic paint you use, salty air will still get in there. Also the handles on the Spinfishers are tiny and gives no cranking power, especially on the 6500 size. The Battle 3 and even the Pursuit 4 comes with big power handles, but the Spinfisher doesn't. I had to retrofit a Battle 3 6000 handle onto my SSVI6500 by removing the handle joint pins. My spinfisher feels like a completely different reel with a nice handle.

I have a question not related to this video Tackle Advisor. Have tried out the new diawa Tatula 100? If so, what is the deal with the very restricted tuning of the brake. It seems like whether I was throwing a 1/4 oz or a 3/4 oz the mag dial adjustments were literally the same. Other than this it's a solid reel. Thanks

hmmmmm that's interesting. it shouldn't if it's like all the others....I fish mine on 4 maybe max5.... once you hit 7 or above it should be very manageable and very restrictive.....major distance loss but great for tough conditions and learning.

9'6 or 10'6 tiralejo sticks are great... I use 12 to 18ounce reels with those specific rods and it's a perfect match....Spectacular sticks and in my opinion best in class.....even punchin a few classes up......The 9'6 black hole cape cod striper nano is a great rod too...lots of power with a great action that easily fires up to 4ounces with some oomph. St croix mojos are the most popular in the price range...But I think the tiralejos are well worth the few bucks more. Daiwa's sp surf rods are pretty nice for the price too.....good actions for plugging. Not lifeless and broom sticky like some others in the 200$ and under class

there it is again... long and hard... sweet mother of God lol... you prob got one of them fierce knuckle fuzzes up in a bearing or gear causing stickage! hahaha... That Penn Battle II I've been using for bucktailing had a comparable issue with the handle sticking. Penns are moving into the right direction but they are heavy. Nice to see them taking the abuse we give them in the Northeast. I just seen a Diawa Saltiga BJ and holy crap!! Very nice reel.
@TackleAdvisors
6 жыл бұрын
They're weight vs capacity vs sizes are kinda different. I think they offer unique sizes and capacities.....The ballitic lt makes everyone in the largish reel segment look heavy....I ordered a 6000 ballitic lt a few minutes ago after fishing a 5k last week. Gonna see how it pairs on a saltiga ballistic 11' and 11' tiralejo. That bay jigger is sweet. But I haven't seen what's invovled with getting in that thing....and being able to get inside a saltwater reel is a must for me. I like my saltiga...and it's just now after a few years of abuse in need of an overhaul...(part of the reason i got the balistic lt 6k so i can send the saltiga in for repairs.
@curtisg.8671
6 жыл бұрын
@@TackleAdvisors I was looking at someone's saltiga JDM. How do you compare that with a Van Staal? That diawa was insane nice man with that monoque bullet body and crazy smooth . I guess van staal's seem superior with the water proof segment but with that price range seems there are other options for smoother reels because I had a van staal and they definitely get sluggish but are brutes.
@TackleAdvisors
6 жыл бұрын
Saltiga is far superior in every way shape and form to a vs until you fish it like a vs was designed for.. Meaning submerging Sandy wash and waves and cranking under water.... You'll have a pricey paperweight in a season if you routinely do that.. It'll take it for a few outings... But after that it's a crap shoot.. And the handle knob bearings will go before any real problem shows
