Great honest review. I mentioned the difficulty with the bezel as well and the water resistance typically being 200m or above. So good eye there. I like the structure of your review! Keep up this format.

Thank you so much! For the water resistance, I don't go diving so from my own personal use, I don't need a professional-level-spec'd dive watch, but for sure other people who will go diving will need a 200m WR watch. As for the bezel, I really hope mine becomes easier to turn as I use it more. 🤞🏼

Great review, very informative. This is an interesting piece…looks like Spinnaker may have been inspired by the very rare 1646 Breguet Diving Watch.

Great review Eve! I think it looks amazing on your wrist. Bummed about the bezel, water resistance, and the etched name on the case. Also I think it looks nice, I wish they didn't use the Mercedes hands. Keep up the great work! Killed it 🙌🙌

Out of the downsides, the tough bezel is the one I mind the most. Everything else, I can live with! At most, I will just swim in a pool. 😁 It's a great-looking watch though!

Good looking watch, it has some nice vintage skin diver vibes going for it. 40mm is a great size for a dive watch and it looks great on your wrist. I don't dive so 150 meters are more than enough for me, but that bezel action is disappointing. Great review Eve, congrats on the collab!

Looks like you struggled to turn the bezel at the beginning of the video. My spinnaker hunley had the same issue, had to add a little silicone oil to it and it loosened up quite nicely. Beautiful dial on this watch. Nice that it has does have a diver extension, clasp looks nice too. Ahh typing as I watch. So, silicone oil put some drips between bezel and case and allow to get in as much as it will and then spin the bezel to work the oil in it. I did a video about this on my spinnaker hunley. Great review!

@@AliasEveWatches uh, that I’m not sure, I used the oil (clear oil) that came with my shaving kit. It took a few applications but finally whatever was binding my bezel came free and it spins nicely now. I’m not sure what body oil is lol

Nice review. I've always been curious about Spinnaker. I'm with you on the Mercedes hands. I'll go one step further and say they shouldn't exist on any watch at all. It is very inelegant IMO. The Cathedral hand is a better option, only if you must have something that distinctive.

Like you, I have never been all that attracted to the diver style watches. I'm more of a field watch guy with dress watches taking a close second place. But this watch is interesting with the domed crystal and how it looks like the bezel follows the same curve, although that does reduce the grip edge which I suspect added to the difficulty in manipulating it. The 150m water resistance doesn't bother me too much. Honestly, how many of us buy dive watches to actually dive with? Everybody knows that WR doesn't really matter because if it has applied pips and bars on the dial and a rotating bezel, then it automatically gives you a +5 Endurance save underwater and a +10 skill check when disabling a nuclear bomb while being attacked by sharks/terrorists/robot ninjas.

Great review. Overall this seems to be a nice homage to the Breguet No. 1646 and/or the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms. The issue with the difficult-to-rotate bezel is something that is an unfortunate commonality with all of the Spinnaker models. As we speak, I am sitting here struggling to rotate the bezel of my Bordeaux Dumas. Perhaps this could be a positive for some who will never use the bezel and want it to remain in place. Agreed re: the Mercedes-style hour hand, but not a deal breaker for me. Neither is the 150m of water resistance - this to me is more than adequate for an everyday watch. Overall seems to be a good buy, especially if you can purchase it at a discount and/or with discount codes.

I like dive watches but not diving. I do however use the bezel when I'm cooking. On a good cooking / diving watch the bezel should work without pain. The Spinnaker does look nice but at that price I would like a better movement and a bezel that works.
