Spiritbox are all about horror aesthetics. They are named after a popular and controversial piece of ghost-hunting tech. Good reaction guys! Courtney, Tatiana, and Lena (Infected Rain) have got all the guys and girls crushing pretty hard!

One of my favorites by them!!! Perfect way w/ telling any guy to never mistreat nor take advantage when there lady gives all in making sure he's happy but has her feeling so under appreciated for the hardwork she puts into the relationship. Real love is rare to find. 🎸⚡⚡⚡

Oh, nice to see you going back to Spiritbox! And I'm glad you like Blessed Be, it's such a masterpiece. Spiritbox never disappoints. Their instrumental work is so damn good and in combination with Courtney outstanding vocals everything is just perfect. If you didn't do so yet, you two definitely should check out their song Rule of Nines. And I really recommend checking out their live performance videos on their official channel, all of them are so damn good. Enjoyed your reaction and hearing your opinion. Cheers!

My interpretation of the video (which I've read elsewhere is partially a visual homage to Handmaid's Tale) is they are in a relationship that is toxic, where they tear pieces of each other apart (metaphorically) at the dinner table and can't even have a conversation when they are in the same room together. She feels chained to the relationship and he ignores her, and the heavy sequence is her imagining the ways she could free herself from it. You see them dancing with knives in his back, surrounded by the other failed relationships she has left in her past. The end of the video shows that she is still trapped, chained to the house and her husband. This is just my take on it though, and I've read other comments elsewhere that come up with different theories about what the song and the video are about. edit: I totally hear the Shirley Manson comparison in her clean vocals, which I think is made even more Garbage-like with the layering of her voice. Loved Garbage and loved Shirley's voice so it makes even more sense to me now why I love Courtney's voice too. Subbed!

So Belcarra looked like it was the Villisca Axe Murder House, Holy Roller was Midsommar, and this one is Insidious, with just a little Poltergeist mixed in on account of the family watching the static on tv in the living room.

+1, this epic video gets way too little attention. Masterpiece. Each time I watch this, I say to myself: "Nah, just watch Mara Effect I today." And then I watch Mara Effect II. And Mara Effect III. There is no way around this 16 min. Spiritbox experience.

I've heard some people say this song takes a big influence from the show Handmaids Tale, hence the title "Blessed Be". I think the line that grasps the feel of the Handmade's Tale is, "I open up to adore you but everything was a crutch to preserve life". And that really embodies that almost Stockholm syndrome imagery at least for me.

Check out belcarra from them was the first song i listened to by spiritbox and is still my favorite. Also dont remeber you mentioning it but she is shackled the entire video you can see the cuff on her ankle and the chain following her in every scene. Adds to the horror element and also leads me to believe this song could be about being in an abusive relation and feeling like you are the issue and wanting to do better but in reality its the abuser keeping her there.

It's actually inspired by "The Handmaids Tale" and therefore refers to oppression of women / slavery (the silent way), it is great that they gave a hint to this by styling him similarly to the tv series commander. Also, I have this 50s feeling with the tv scene, like in the postapokalyptic Fallout 4 beginning. The lyrics also refer to depression / antidepressants etc.etc. Courtney is great in writing lyrics that can be interpreted on many levels. Marvellous. Oh, and Belcarra would be even worth watching, if the sound was muted. Her dance style reminded me of what she did in the last (?) iwrestledabearonce video.

For me The song its about depression and how she scape from it. The guy represents her pain. In the video you can see that she is chained like she was trap. And in the final scene it represents that she leaves her depression behind. The chorus she sings about chemicals that is anti depression. She mentioned Serotonin which causes depression.

I take the theme as being "relationships are hard", and the violence being metaphorical, as is the chain that features in all the scenes when she is walking as well as the bathtub scenes. The only thing that would make me love the video more is if the guy was Mike, their guitarist and also Courtney's husband. Note that at the end, she is still chained and he's still alive. I take the meaning as her feeling frustrated and trapped even though a lot of us would dream of a relationship as close and creative as being band-mates with our SO, but relationships are hard. And sometimes a relationship being good just makes the cognitive dissonance of our frustrations feel more intense, because it seems crazy to feel frustrated in the midst of an objectively good relationship.

Weird that everybody assumes she’s in an abusive relationship considering the only thing the guy is guilty of in the video is having bad table manners.
