The velcro cummerbunds have pull handles on them so you can still rip them off without having to lift up your chest rig. I ultimately moved away from Spiritus because it got old waiting 47 months to fill out a kit. I still use the velcro cummerbunds and a couple pouches from them, but I use a Crye JPC 2.0 now, and I much prefer the carrier to the Spiritus carrier.

How well does the lv-119 handle the sustainment-oriented rig? I often see people loading it down with quite a lot of kit, when it isn't really a dedicated load bearing carrier.

I'm looking hard at this setup or Defense Mechanism's rig...they both offer quite a bit of modularity and don't break the bank for what you get.

I've got the MEPC and honestly I gotta say it isn't worth it. By the time you add the basic necessitates of the "modular" accessories, (cummerbund, mag placard, GP pouch, retaining band) it ran me $526 even WITH a discount, and the carrier isn't that comfortable. Shoulder straps sat WAY too narrow on the shoulders, and I could feel immediate strain, plus rubbing and chaffing on the neck. Stitch work and sizing feels overall mediocre, and improperly done, leading to imbalance issues and lopsided attachments. Not to mention the inner mesh backing is ridiculously crinkly and noisy, and retains sweat and heat more than it disperses it. Plus, the medium plate bags BARELY hold HESCO 3810s, which are less than an inch thick. The plates stick about half inch out of the bottom of the carrier, and the retaining flap doesn't close entirely, leaving exposed velcro against your shirt/skin. It's tearing up my clothes. I'm getting rid of them, likely in favor of the Velocity Scarab

@@lima3dynamics you're review on the scarab is defintely one of the best out there. Hard to find good reviews on it, even though I know it's vetted. It's shoulder strap design specifically is what makes it appealing. I nearly bought the Spiritus over the MEPC, but clearly made a mistake. That being said, if you were faced with a choice between the spiritus or the scarab as a base set up, which would you recommend? Pros and cons/purposes for each carrier? I'm not too concerened with modularity, so much as I am comfort and maneuverability for 10+ hours a day. Any recommendations or assistance you can give is greatly appreciated.

That’s a tough one. I’ve not been uncomfortable in either and both are about the same as far as just a base carrier. I would probably lean towards spiritus. One big difference is molle on the rear bag. If you need that or want it, then go velocity. You’re gonna be happy either way I think.

Is this plate carrier compatible with esstac kywi mag pouches or are you kind of stuck with their version?
@lima3dynamics
2 жыл бұрын
It can accept just about any placard that has swift clips to buckle into. I’ve ran Haley micro rigs on it, parashooter gear, velocity, etc. if esstac makes a mag shingle like that then yes. The carrier itself does not have molle on the front for esstac traditional mag pouches.

I’m 6 foot and 210 and wear a large. Plate carrier size should be based off the plate size you need for correct coverage. If you Google this it will give you the measurements and with a tape measure you can measure yourself to make sure you get it right

So as far functionality i feel the lv119 is slightly better, how the cable management works through the back plate is a huge plus. This is a tough one for me because i like things on both, but after testing I’ve noticed the fcpc kindof fraying in some of the front plate sections and none on the lv119. That’s just some of the major things. Both are very solid and offer a lot of modularity.
