Steve I really appreciate your honesty, especially compare to other YT skaters who also review these popular skate products and we know they have a Spitfire bias when it comes to skate wheel brand. You said these SFF4 93A is more similar to the X99 than the X97 due to the feel of the hardness, so when it comes to speed are the SFF4 93A closer to the X99 or X97? Also when you said you give the edge to the X97 when you compare the X97 to the SFF4 93A do you mean that you pefer the X97 because they are slightly softer feel and thus a bit more comfy on rough surfaces while still as good and about the same when it comes to speed, slide and overall usability for all types of skating (street/park/tech/flip/ledge/rail)? Thanks ahead for answering and appreciate you 🎉🎉🎉🎉
@stickersteve007
5 ай бұрын
thanks dude. gotta keep it honest! id say the speed is more comparable to the x97's. And Yup the x97's get the edge because of those reasons. It all comes down to personal preference, but overall for me the x97's just feel better. Any more info you want don't hesitate to ask!
@jimmyhuang8730
5 ай бұрын
@@stickersteve007never brought the X97 but according to your info and reviews I would also choose X97 over SFF4 93A for the same reasons if the speed and slide are the same, I don't care about the sound of the wheel as much as most other skaters but more so the performance and comfortability of the wheel especially on rough which is really the main use of these type of softer wheel + the ability to still slide. I mainly ride SFF4 99A for smooth park and Dragons for anything rough and not smooth so I have zero bias for wheel brand and prefer what skate wheels work best for what surfaces. If these type of wheels were available back in the 80s and 90s where there were no or much lesser skate parks available, I'm sure the X97 would probably be the highest selling wheel due to the fact it can be use well on the street and smoother surfaces, why Spitfire had to come out with a similar wheel such as these SFF3 93A to compete for the market. Thank you for your reviews and please keep them coming and keep us informed in the future and thanks again for being honest with your reviews 🎉🎉🎉🎉

@@diplenski Sorry in advance to geek out. A durometer gauge will only measure indentation hardness but there's also rebound hardness which is a set of test conditions. I heard that it was the rebound formulation that George Powell really focused his R&D on with the Dragons/ X Formula because a faster rebound is typically associated with harder material/ slower rebound with softer material (fast rebound = faster rolling speed). With some engineering wizardry, GP managed to develop a soft durometer / high rebound formula. I might be completely wrong here but this could be why the Spitfires and Dragons feel so different. All I can say is that my 93a Dragons are way faster than my previous regular 99a wheels which blows my mind 🤯

Something I noticed when these first came out was all the KZitem guys that got these for free were calling them the 93a’s not soft slider. One thing I've been thinking about is that Spitfire advertises it as a "93D" Not 93a. D Isn't a unit that measures durometer. Similar to "X97". I'm pretty sure they use their own system for hardness. I believe they wanted to be able to claim 93 to compete with dragons but they knew that it doesn't really measure that way when you test it. I think 93D is just to give the buyer an idea of what they were going for and what to expect but not a real reflection of the urethane itself. Kind of weird but I do enjoy the wheels. Would you recommend switching out the softer wheels for these in a gritty city like toronto or do i just stick to my 2 different setups do you think?
