2:13 ~ That's an interesting aircraft. I suspect that one was in the Battle of Britain ~ the movie, not the historical event. After the War, the Spanish wanted fighters, and the best deal they could find was to get fresh made BF-109s, but they couldn't get the German engines, the DB-605. So they bought RR Merlins and 109 airframes and cobbled something together. When they came to make The Battle of Britain movie, in 1968 or something, they rounded up several of these things. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hispano_Aviaci%C3%B3n_HA-1112 If you only look at the things behind the leading edge of the wing, then it's a late model BF-109. If you look forward of that point ~ it's a Franken-plane ~ with a Merlin engine. The prop is about 12 inches higher than the DB-605 and it doesn't have a cannon firing through it. The 605 is an inverted V12 ~ the Merlin is right-way-up, with a reduction gear.
