Song of the South was one of Walt's personal projects and remains a charming, funny and moving film. It's set during reconstruction, post slavery, and Uncle Remus is free to leave -- and in fact does move away to Atlanta in the film before returning at the climax. The kids are shown to have bonds free of class or race bias -- all are affected by the the wonderful storyteller and the search for a "laughing place" to cope with life's problems. Walt's animators felt the cartoon sequences were among their very best work. The film always played well in reissue and its sad to see it unfairly disrespected.

Yeah, the radical liberals on the left destroyed this part of Walt Disney’s legacy because the radicalization of the liberal arts in academia is present and that cultural Marxists have taken over college campuses. Another thing that killed off Splash Mountain was the presence of environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) scores that The Walt Disney Company has adopted because BlackRock, a shareholder of The Walt Disney Company, and also the largest asset manager in the world, requires the company to do it because the European Union is on the verge of making a law that requires companies to adopt ESG scores in order to be in business in Europe, which is influenced by the elites at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

I’ve never seen the film but… hearing stories from it makes it sound lovely. I don’t know why people are judging it so harshly when they’ve never even seen it. Like me. The only experience I had was it was with the ride splash mountain. And I don’t know how closely it is with the film, but, I enjoyed it. And if that means anythin’ then… maybe I’ll enjoy the film too

@@walterwhite1 I watched it last year online and it was very good. A bit slow at the start, but wonderful. I believe it could have been on classic status if it got the chance.
