Andrew, they sell a hand truck lookin thing that is used for moving barrels around. just google "Drum Dolly" and youll see what Im talking about. They have a fork at the bottom and a sliding hook at the top intended to grab the top lip of a 55 gallon drum. If you sharpen that top hook into a spike you can sink it down into the large rounds and move em around your wood yard much more easily. Just make sure you get one with the pneumatic wheels and that the hook goes kinda low to reach down to the length of your round cut. The one I use is a Westco brand drum truck 240003. Little spendy but 100% a back saver. Just picks up the log round like a big biscuit and you can wheel it around.

Hey Andrew, I’m not sure if you’ve mentioned this in some of your live feeds or not but what ear protection are you using. Back in your early videos you had some corded ones and the ones in this video appear to be wireless. I’ve been looking for a good pair I can wear while working outside (cutting wood, mowing grass etc…) that I can Bluetooth some music in from my phone but still provide good protection. The key for me is they also have to be comfortable to wear for hours on end. Thanks as always for the videos!

Andrew, I hate to notice but to see you struggle with those big rounds. I know this feeling all to well! I have the same splitter and fight the same 30"+ rounds! I'm going to let you in on a little secret. My father found a piece of 4 ft by 4 ft 3/8 in thick plastic. It kind of reminds me of some sort of wear plate possibly. However I cut a small notch out to slide around my splitter and lay it flat on the ground when it's in the upright position. You would not believe how easy it is to maneuver those big rounds on top of that plastic. They slide around weightlessly! Keep your eye out for something like that if you send me your email I will snap some pictures of how I have it set up if you're interested. I don't so much trouble anymore with those as this past winter I built an inverted log splitter for my skid steer! I now bust those big rounds down to manageable pieces and saves a lot of back ache and a lot of struggle! Best of luck on your wood splitting as I find it the best therapy and exercise a man can do! Happy splitting!
