Easy to understand Norsk with your dialects and the way you are talking ( slowly and clearly) 👍🏻😁but Norsk not so easy to understand in everyday life with different dialects, slang and normal speech speed🤪

@@timoloefwhat should I learn? where can I even begin to learn the spoken language? like I hear the person talking, if there’s subtitles I can track the words on the news, but if someone were to talk to me about hva er typisk norsk I wouldn’t be able to understand them. I understood every word here, I could absolutely hold a strong conversation about almost anything with these two.

I’m surprised how similar the accent is to the Scottish highland accent. I knew the people there including my relatives are descended from a mix of Irish and Vikings from Norway but I didn’t expect the accent and rhythm to be that similar.
@rainy-matcha

The accent is actually very different depending on what part of Norway the person is from. For instance an Oslo accent (Oslo sprakke) is very different to the accent of someone from Western Norway.

Yeah, I say do it but have a stong reason to. My reason for becoming fluent is so that I can communicate effortlessly with my family and because I want to become a psychologist in Norway. Your reason doesn't need to be as extreme but maybe like, make a good impression when you visit Norway, etc.
@Gobikepacking

@en.lynnvfx thanks for your comment As you said my reason is not as extreme. I think just Basic level should be enough . Is there any site or boom you recommend?
@en.lynnvfx

@@Gobikepacking I recommend duolingo for very basic stuff and pronunciation (for bokmål/oslo dialect), and typing "Norwegian textbook pdf" into google and you can find many free textbooks (which IMO, are the best). Another thing is finding videos of people just talking in Norwegian, preferably with Norwegian subtitles, and listening to them while you write down and repeat what they say. Podcats and audiobooks will work well too! I wish you luck on your Norwegian language journey!

The German part would be correct, the Russian part however is totally wrong. There's like 0% Russian there, none at all. Perhaps because it sounds weird to you like the way Russian also is weird sounding to you but it would have as much in common with Russian as Japanese would.
