Check out the friendlies guy in the utensil drawer!
Amy Krouse Rosenthal writes this book about the little spoon who feels so ordinary and dull, till he realizes all the things he can do and feels lucky to be a spoon.
This book reminds us that everyone has their own unique strengths and weaknesses which is what makes us, us! This book is about self-acceptance and being proud of our differences.
The illustrations by Scott Magoon are fabulous. In the Spoon family photo, look for the black-sheep Spork looking dejected off to the side. And ask a grownup to share the gag about a dish who ran away with a spoon! I'll remind you about that when you listen to the book. And notice the Chopsticks on the page where they look like a couple of deadly serious ballroom dancers prancing around a plate of sushi! Hilarious!
