So much of the performance is electronic rhythms and spacey riffs creating a terrific ambience. A steady beat and a song that is going somewhere in its own sweet time and in the meantime we can luxuriate in the sweeping electronic sounds/ I didnt know what to make of electronics and synths at the time (I'm 70 now) but in retrospect I love it. This is a wonderful smooth ride. Sandy looks great.

@Hastur876

It's because all that a tiny little independent band had to do was put out a single. If it was good enough, large media outlets like MuchMusic and CFNY that were very pro-Canada would ensure regular spins in one market, and then CanCon regulations provided the path from those two outlets to full radio saturation. So we got Spoons, Men Without Hats, Rough Trade, Payolas, Parachute Club, Martha & the Muffins, Pursuit of Happiness, Max Webster, Doug & the Slugs, Northern Pikes and so on. Every one of them wrote at least a couple really brilliant pop hits, and those pop hits got the opportunity for heavy airplay in Canada without needing massive corporate backing.

Love this band! They were one of the rare bands of the '80's that were able to blend a nice heavy guitar rhythm with a catchy synthesizer riff. But what's up with the guy playing the cowbell? And what's up with the second drummer? They have a drum machine and their own drummer and they thought they might need MORE rhythm by adding a 2nd drummer and some guy playing a cowbell? What were they thinking? lol

If that is a fact this band was doing in 1982 what other acts were doing from 1984-1988. I never heard this in the 1980s. The females singer sounds so good. Her singing is magic. If this was given mass exposure in the USA it would be well remembered but American radio was already playing music from the early 60s to early 70s by the early 1980s after disco died instead of great new music like this.
