Sometimes ESPN does pander to women's sports with mediocre efforts, typically WNBA, but the soccer and volleyball plays were excellent.

@@JedForgebro lmao the first 4 top 10 football plays were flea flickers that worked, an interception off of a tip, and a blocked FG. They didn’t even start getting impressive until #4.

I believe as long as someone touches it before it goes in it counts (the goalie in this case).

It can’t, that’s why one of them said “Don’t touch it, Keeper.” If the goalie lets it go, it’s an indirect free kick

Drake women's soccer(#1 on Top 10 plays) needs their own soccer stadium. They played in a practically empty football stadium.

So someone who knows soccer more than me, which would be most people. On that #1 play, are you allowed to throw it into the goal from the sideline? Or was it the fact that the goalie touched it that made it goal? And is the other team allowed to touch/hip check the goalie?

[Edit: Been wrong my whole life, corners and goal kicks can score direct, but throw ins can't.] As a goalkeeper, I have no clue why the commentator said the goalkeeper shouldn't have touched it. Throw ins, corner kicks, and goal kicks can all be scored directly without a player in the field touching the ball. There are very few times a ball can't be scored directly as it is being put back in play, the most common being goalkeepers using their hands when they are in the penalty area but are receiving a pass from a teammate, resulting in an indirect free kick. The rarest being an own goal directly off of a goal kick without contacting another player, which results in a corner kick. I've also played in one indoor league that had all free kicks be indirect and actually did get out of the way intentionally to let one go into the goal resulting in a goal kick, but I don't know how common that rule is.

@@collaredkeeper You're correct. Indoor might have different rules, but in 'regular' football (soccer for my fellow heathen yanks), a goal cannot be scored directly from a throw in.

I didn't realize that it was legal to throw an Olympico, and don't understand why it would be. In any other situation, the only time it is legal for a goal to be thrown into the net is an own goal by the keeper.
