So, I'm not the person the Sportster-S is marketed too, as when I buy a "new" bike it's going to be a Dyna, FXR or Softail. But as a current sportster owner and Harley Davidson enthusiast, I have some thoughts 😂. First, the Sportster needed an engine update for years to keep it competitive with other bikes in it's class and Harley has finally done it. I love my evolution sporty but it was long overdue. IMO they missed the mark though a bit by tuning it to lose 30HP from the Pan America, which has the same engine the only difference being the tuning, at least from what Harley has currently stated. Second the price. Harley ,IMO, has over priced this bike. They've put a Sportster in the price category of their softails. It is in fact more expensive than the entry level Softail, the Softail standard, and the same price as the Harley Street Bob 114. If you're trying to replace the current Sportster you would think the best option for pricing would be put it in the category of price they currently are. Not only as a way to try to get people more attracted to it, but to make it more competitive with other brands in the same category class (Indian). There are some people making the argument if you're complaining about the price, you probably can't afford it. In my opinion it's just bad marketing and overpricing a product. Especially since the technology they are finally using is not "new" to the industry. Third, some of the styling choices and performance parts are poor choices, once again IMO. For example, on a performance oriented Sportster, which is what they're trying to claim it to be, why would you put a 48 size tire on the front with inverted forks and a single disc brake? Once again a miss fire for the design. A better option would have been putting the roadster front end on. Narrower tire for faster maneuverability, dual disk front brake and keeping the inverted front end. The fact that any motorcycle in this day and age still has a single disc front brake, unless it is specifically designed for retro styling, is ridiculous. For safety alone it should be standard, but on a "performance" bike not to have it, is just cheap and/or poor choices. There are definitely other things I can pick about it, but these are the biggest ones imo. And the reason I pick at it the way I do is because I legitimately care about Harley Davidson as a company and want them to succeed. So in that end I hope that this is a big hit for them. But if people don't speak out about certain things they'll never change. Not that I think that me saying any of this is going to affect the MoCo decisions, I'm not delusional 😂, but maybe some other people might hear them or read them and have similar thoughts that could reach them. Is this the END of the current sportster as we know it? I think so. The Evolution engine has come to the end of its life. And actually did so several years back. EPA standards all over the world have made it obsolete. And the power is not competitive with other bikes in its class in this day and age. Other models with the new revolution engine in it will come in to fill the gaps left behind. Sorry for the Essay 🤦🏻♂️🤣. Your video got my mind going and I just started typing 😂.

HAHAHA it's all good. That's why I make these videos because I like to share my opinion and I am very curious about everyone else's opinion. You have a lot valid points, some that I agree with and some that I will have to disagree. I will comment more on your points on the video of the possibility end of the evolution. I find it very hard for the evolution to be gone anytime soon and in that video I will explain why. But thank you for the feedback it was very helpful.

@@ironthrottlemoto302 no problem man! Hey people aren't going to agree on everything 🤷🏻♂️😂. I'm right with ya bro. I like to share my opinions as well and when a subject gets my mind going I gotta share it lol. Looking forward to your next video on all this. I'm really digging your video style and content, keep it up bro! I gotta get back to doing some motovlogs again. 🤔 Maybe I can do a response video to it and we can get some motovlog dialogue happening 😁.
