I love these videos, Nic. These videos don’t need to be edited, I prefer the raw unedited videos because I feel like you’re talking to me directly instead of different clips pieced together. Please continue to make content like this, we appreciate the gems and advice 😊

Dude thanks for making this. As a young rapper I always wanted to be the next biggest thing, I wanted to just be on Wayne & Drakes level. But as I’ve created for the past 10 years I realized even if I never become the “most commercially” successful artist, I just wanna make a living off what I love. I try to be mindful of where I’m at cause I got 6k monthly listeners & i get paid regularly little amounts from my catalog & the best feeling is knowing it’s off the hard work I’ve put in over the past 10 years learning to produce, mix, master, record; write, & everything else. Now it’s time to grow it to 100,000 in 2024

Found you on TikTok, listened to you on Spotify/Apple and have played you on repeat on days I feel like jammin' your stuff. It's working man! I've been in radio for over a decade. To see how artists can operate in this landscape of streaming and socials, you are doing a damn good job man. Keep it up and I can't wait to hear more. Heck, while listening to this video, I went to Release Radar and boom, paused this and listened to "East Coast", it's working!

Great stuff bro! I appreciate your perspective and have now joined Grouped cuz of you. Also, I've been avoiding TikTok and that style content for a long time. You've really made me reconsider, and now I just need to jump in and find my style of it. One thing I'll say about the release frequency and budget thing is that, as a rock artist and sound engineer, my biggest bottleneck is recording drums. It's one of the toughest things to do well in recording, and what I've come to realize is that I need to go to great studios, or buy a ton more mics and gear to achieve great results. I can program drums really well at this point, but to me, it's still isn't quite the same as working with real drummers recording in the real world. Your points about frequent release really has me thinking about other ways I can create to supplement in between the costly and time-consuming drum bottleneck. In any case, I just wanted to say thank you, and highlight the difference between being more live instrument based vs. Hip hop and EDM. I personally find it much easier to bang shit out faster in those genres the times Ive worked on them.

Facts on pitching songs. Spotify only lets you pitch one song at a time, slowing down releases if you’re doing it for editorial playlists.

Amen brother! I just discovered you last week and I been gobbling up your content. Love it! Loving the inside look at Spotify strategy. There’s a whole industry based on editorial playlist pitching and placement, and you’ve just confirmed my nagging feeling that it’s all bs. I’ve been very discouraged by the mantra I hear everywhere that there’s no money in music, but you’ve inspired me otherwise. Would love to hear your thoughts on making the recording process cheaper/easier. I’ve been think lately that could be key for me, cause I need to speed up my process and get my shit out quick and on the regular!

I’ve been listening for only one and a half months and my listeners went from under 100 to almost 1000 today . Disclaimer I am a lifelong artist and musician who was at the point in my career where much like Nick says I just neeeded a switch flipped with how I was thinking . Forever grateful to u and your team and Connor . Everything is beginning to happen quickly just in one month I’ve even landed my first brand deal with an on brand music production company . I took what u teach and also started releasing my instrumentals (I produce my music) and was able to tie the instrumental into content with my favorite plugin company and voila . I share this in hopes someone else is wondering about nics advice and in my opinion I put his word up there with other 🐐 s like Gary Vee . Appreciate u and thanks for letting me share
