Not sure what brand camera you are using, but here’s some general info about focus settings. Make sure it’s set to something like object since facial recognition tends to be the default for many cameras. It will have trouble focusing on anything else if it’s looking for a face the whole time. I would guess that is causing most of your trouble. Also check the focus frequency. An abbreviation like AF-C will mean continuous auto focus, which might be what you’re on atm. That setting is only useful if you can get it to correctly focus on the objects you want consistently. Otherwise object tracking or manual focus might be better. It really depends on the camera you have though. You should be able to touch the screen to get it to track, but you’ll have to remember to do that any time you switch subjects. It can be a bit much. I prefer limiting where the camera is looking. Some cameras like Nikon’s can let you choose a specific area where you know you want it to prioritize focus. Since you mostly work in the middle of the screen, this approach could work well for you. I believe there’s also a setting that tells the camera how long to wait before refocusing if something goes out of focus. For your purposes, it may be best to set it to 1-2 seconds so you don’t get that constant in and out refocusing several times a second when using AF-C. There’s also a transition rate which tells the camera how quickly it should switch focus from one point to another. For still photography it tends to work best at the fastest rate, but for video, it’s better to set it somewhere in the middle so it isn’t as jarring to watch. You generally want a smooth transition between subjects. Some cameras can also let you set a minimum and maximum distance so the camera doesn’t waste time and resources looking for something too close or far away when you know your subjects will always be within 3-4 feet of the camera. I believe it’s grouped with bracketing settings if it’s not with focus settings. Also try turning on focus peaking so you can easily see what is in focus as you’re filming. It’ll help you catch issues faster. In manual mode (M on the dial), set your frame rate to 24 fps, shutter to 1/50, and aperture somewhere between 3-11 to sharpen the image. The higher the aperture, the sharper the image and the larger the focal range/depth of field, but it means less light and a darker image, so there’s a balance you’ll need to play with. Add more light as needed (diffused light will work best for your purposes), and manually set ISO last to avoid screen lightening and darkening during filming. It seems like you’re currently using auto ISO which is why the image lightens and darkens constantly. Great for still photography, not so much for video. The higher the ISO, the brighter the image. Technically the lower the ISO the better, but shutter speed and aperture are far more important and ISO is really gonna be dependent on your lighting situation. I think too many people make too big a fuss over ISO because it creates noise, but what does noise matter if nothing is in focus or it’s too dark to see? If you have the ability to add as much light as you want, then you could set your ISO to its lowest setting (30-150). If you can’t add more light, then work with what you have and set ISO last (can go up to 52K) to lighten the image as needed. I hope some of that helps! Thanks for another great live!

The blue one to me...since it is on the 90s themed plate...reminds me of a pair of ZUBAS. You know, the puffy pants of the late 80s, early 90s

You can! Just keep practicing. Be patient with yourself & don't compare your work to people with years more experience. They were starting out once too.

I watched the replay and I'll be honest with you guys, this is the first time I fast-forward a video 🙄. The blue frame on the video looks cool 😎 but the blurriness killed me 🤦🏻♀️😔. I know you guys are experimenting and that's okay. Anyways, I loved the second design 💙. Thank you as always, you ladies are awesome.💖😊

Does anyone know where I can find the spookygirl art stamping plate m354? I’m new the this channel and to stamping. I saw an old video that featured the stamping plate and cannot find it anywhere.

Love the designs and art work, and although the border/frame around the video is cool the camera angles just are clear and close up as the old format was. Really hard to watch this one

Just found your channel, unfortunately until you get the camera figured out I won’t be able to watch. I was getting motion sick from the focus and had to stop watching lol 🥴
