I have over 70 interviews I’ve done over the years that I’ve never posted. Either the sound was a little off or I just didn’t feel like it was time to post it. Mainly the individual I talked with afterward didn’t like something they said. So I never posted it. This particular interview I did in 2019 in Chicago with the Icon Vjuan Allure. Many times over the years he and I had some great and insightful conversations about ballroom. Usually, he and I would arrive at balls early and just talk about some of the things that we have gotten to experience behind the turntables/lens. I truly always felt like both of our views give a different perspective to ballroom. As important and vital are the competitors and the judges are. The music really sets the tone of the event. It allows the people to feel it to perform and carry on. Vjuan knew when to change the beat and make it hot in various moments. This is a glimpse of his ballroom history and his connection to music. I truly feel even with his untimely loss that he will still inspire for generations to come. Sleep in Peace! 🙏🏽
