Would also LOVE a video simply telling us the best length, power and action for a rod for specific techniques. Jerkbait, worm, crankbait, topwater etc etc. doesn’t matter price or brand, just those exact length power and actions. Then we can apply that to our personal price points. As always, LOVE your videos!!!!

They have multiple multiple videos on virtually every technique, almost yearly. Just search the technique and add the channel name and you’ll find as much info as you could want. You can skip to the description if you want basics, but personally the thing TB does better than anyone else, is they give extremely detailed breakdowns including little details that most would leave out. Personally I love that. For example, TB was the first place I heard recommendation to use a mod-fast over an extra fast for jig rods because the way it loads up increases hookup ratios. And that advice has proven spot on in the years since. I would never have known the cause of some of those missed fish otherwise.
@clintsimpson4690

@@JamFlexx yeah that’s the point for most of the fanbase I think. That over-explaining tendency of Matt’s especially, gives you some things you’d only pick up with time on the water. And not many vass fishing YT creators both (1) have as much/more time on water as TB; AND (2) make actual instructional/informational videos rather than straight entertainment. Randy Blaukat is one. Flukemaster is another but his old stuff is much better for learning. Maybe Matt Stephan. That’s about it.

I fish daily here on Allegheny in SW Pa. My goto setup 99% of the time is a Tatula XT 2pc 7' med/fast with a Tatula LT MQ 2500D-XH. I primarily run 12lb Invisx on it. A lot of chatterbaits, etc. Love this setup. Super light weight in hand and can handle the majority of what I throw at it walleye, and bass wise. Occasionally I will link up with a cat or a nice sized drum like I did the other day. Love the Tatula XT rod lineup. Offers a lot for $99. Full Fuji giides and reel seat, etc. I bank fish and run a 2pc simply because it spends time on my pack when moving to various spots.

Man the Aird-X is such an amazing rod for moving baits. I use one for walking baits with a gen one 13 Fishing concept C. Dialed in, it bombs out at the very least dead equal to my squarebill/topwater combo TFO Pro Topwater rod w/ Shimano Curado DC. The TFO is a better rod at 3x the price obviously, but only in the fact that it’s very sensitive for squarebill/medium crankbaits in terms of feeling what you’re crawling through. It’s even heavier. I won’t invest in another standard moving bait/small to medium crank/topwater rod until I’m able to start building some or I just have some money to blow on some champion XPs.

He says he is comfortable with the set up, he can cast a mile & he never has line issues or hook up problems. Which is all true, but I can't articulate to him why he needs to switch it up. We fish for bass on a Midwestern chain of lakes in SE Wi. and Im certain if I could explain to him in better terms he would see the benefits immediately after switching. Have you guys tried the Tatula spinning rod with the cork? 150$ model.

So with that being said about the 300 size is the 200 Tranx truly not worth it for a swim bait rod?

There are a lot of guys swimbaiting on 200 size reels these days, it's definitely a trend. We've done this for a very long time, and once you've had a teener lock up a 200 (doesn't matter which one) and you couldn't turn the handle any more... you never forget that loss. I won't be caught tempting a giant with anything smaller than a 300 with oversize gears 👍🏼

@@tacticalbassin that makes a good bit of sense, I appreciate the explanation. Time to go return the 200 for an upgrade!

i was gifted a dobyns fury 735c i just heard you say the maverick is basically better then the older more expensive dobyns in another video. that said i cant afford to phase the rod out even if i got a new one id wanna use it for something even though its old what would you say a dobyns 735c can be used for and still do a good job like a certain technique it still can accel in?
