Gotta love it when people throw metal at you! You get it out of their way, and they help you load it! Saaweet! The back of the metal chair... eehhh.. it might sell as a wall decor... if you can easily detach it from the base... otherwise.. scrap it. Those were all PHOTO ALBUMS... and absolutley, folks like Paper and Moose would want them. If not, try an area university or college: the history department loves old letters; design departments would love the clothing picutures. I will say it again: You have a great eye for your area. Don't doubt your instincts about the step ladder. You could hang things off of it, or set smalls up on the rungs, or just sell it. You could easily get $10-15 for that at the Flea Market... and you paid nothing for it. Thanks for taking us along with you! It's a great day when folks help you, because you are helping them. Reminds us all of what made this nation great.

Yes ma'am. I found some old photos in a skip bin recently- they are from the 1940s and the modern day family aren't interested in them. So sad,these people are their forebearers.

The world has flipped upside down ... Paper and Moose is picking up scrap metal and you are picking up old photo albums and year books! I always go through the photo albums and pick out ones that will sell as a single photo. Then sell the rest of the photos in the album still in the album. Newer photos do sell too! Great find! Now I'm going back to eBay and hope the world stops flipping!!! PEACE!!

I love those old wooden ladders! They make really cute shelves. Maybe your upcycle friends will want it. I would have taken the other ones too. People use those for all sorts of things. It makes me sad when I see people throwing away photo albums like that.

I was at Target the other day and they had a kids car seat recycling program going on (for the month), where you could drop off used ones in exchange for a coupon for the purchase of a new one. If you come across more, and live near one of those stores, might be worth dropping them off. One less hunk of plastic in the landfill.

I hung my grandfather's wooden ladder from the ceiling in my kitchen, painted it black first. Used small hooks on every rung and down the main sides and have all my pots and pans hanging from it, some of the pots were my grandparents. Great convo piece and great memories.

Try oiling the fans. An older gentleman once told me that most of the fans he picked up only needed oil. People never oil their fans. I bought one from him probably 15 years ago and still have and I oil it!!

can't understand why someone would throw away family photo albums especially old ones. That contains their family history. I think with the old yearbooks, maybe the public library in that town will take them.

@@pxpin89 There is a restaurant in my neck of the woods (Bay Area, CA) by the name of the Bull Valley Roadhouse. They curated a large number of random portraits from the late 1800's that are now part of the wall decor. These vintage photos probably met the same fate at the turn of the century as those picked up by Taco Stacks, by being tossed out, but were saved by someone and now they are on display for visitors to view. I have a friend and she's always asking me if I want stuff she no longer wants and she always tells me that if I don't want it she's going to throw it all in the garbage because it's so much of a hassle to donate stuff. She puts it out on the curb for the garbage and she doesn't have to worry about it anymore. Either someone comes by and takes it or the garbage men take it away

Fun to see a pro trashpicker at work. He seems like a nice guy. It reminds me when a was about 12 years of age , collecting stuf from the garbage with my skelter on a lot smaller scale. Now it is here in Holland not possible anymore. garbagecollecting is so well organized and you have to bring your bigscrap to your central waiste point where the scrap is divided in wood , iron , hardplastics, chemicals etc...

Old speakers have great magnets in them useful for making a finder for dropped nails and screws. Helps prevent flat tires if you work on projects out of doors.

I wish you could put stuff out for recycling like this in the U.K. We have to pay to get rubbish removed. If we left items on the pavement we'd probably get a fine or get told to move it due to health and safety reasons! At best we can put out scrap metal, old microwaves etc for dealers.

Gigi Keto, When I saw all those boxes it made me think they were leftovers from an estate that no one wanted. When my grandmother passed no one wanted any family photos they were not in themselves so my mom and I took the rest home to save them. It was just another reason I don’t like my cousins.
