My favorite part of watching you is seeing the joy that small things bring to you. Such a joy to see a young person interested in vintage items and in preserving items from the past.

My Grandma was born in 1912, and she had Virginia Rose dishes that she used for family Sunday dinners! The dishes came to me, and I display them in my hutch in the Springtime, along with a few pieces of pink Depression glass.

I love that you told folks to thrift their serving pieces! I only use glass serving pieces - all of them old and pre-loved. I am in my 60’s and I have been thrifting since before it became popular with younger people. I love that young women like you are finding beauty and functionality with vintage and antique pieces in your home!

I have my Memaw's old glass serving dishes. I love them! I recently found pretty brass candlesticks and a beautiful lamoge platter in the tiniest thrift store I have ever been in. There was barely room to physically turn around! It was unreal how tiny the place was! Right as I was checking out, I found a small group of vintage handmade white napkins, a runner, etc. A note was in the Ziploc bag explaining they were the donor,s mother's and were church and altar pieces her mother had. I love the unexpected treasures. I honestly did not think I would find anything there. You found wonderful things! The floral art was a great find! Older items are often so special and it is so good that there are people who embrace the special old items in this time period of very disposable, cheap quality, cookie cutter, assembly line decor. The pieces of yesterday are still the heirloom, memorable pieces and so special to include in decorating!

3:58 When you flip the Homer Laughlin plate over the last row has a pair of numbers, this one 37. That is the year these plates came to circulation. 1937. All HL is stamped that way, I have a huge collection of beautiful of Homer Laughlin Basic off white scalloped edge dinnerware, must be 10 pieces to a set, 4 plates, 2 bowls 2 cups/ saucers, platters, serving bowls, salt pepper, creamer, sugar... the works. I bought every piece I found in 30 years of thrifting one at a time, sometimes a stack or a box full. Mine are mostly marked 30's thru 40's, the last being '47. Which means my dishes were made 80 years ago, and they are still as pretty and sturdy as ever. Note: don't run your vintage dishes through a dishwasher, they crack and develop dark spots, and lose their color.

I used to have several Virginia rose pieces. I wanted to use them for serving food so I bought some lead tester swabs on Amazon and they tested positive.😢 I personally would not use them for serving food if there are any scratches in the glaze. The paint used back then had lead in it. However, they are gorgeous display pieces. Just wanted to share my experience for awareness. Love your channel!! You have great taste ❤❤❤

Good haul, Maranda. I saw on line where one can make a plate wreath using Grapevine wreath. They used the plate hangers so you can change plates for seasons. I'm dying to try one. Also I remembered a store I took my mom to several yrs ago. She needed replacements to her set of dishes . They have everything. I want some red transferware and saw they had some. It's in Princeton, Illinois. An old town with antique stores and that replacement store. Thanks for sharing. Sending light and love and a blessed Easter.
