Definitely the best channel you can find - and I’m glad I found it! Absolutely professional tips, explained very clearly and with great enthusiasm in a sympathetic way. You should have much more subscribtions, followers and likes. I‘ll recomment you to my fishing buddies in Northern Germany.

Your recommendations for this time oft the year are a lot different from mosr other anglers. Usually they tell you to fish big jerkbaits and stuff like that. I will definitely bring some high vibration baits this spring and try.

Hi Thom, that is great content and great effort there on the channel. Ive watched all the videos throughout these 2 days 🙈 Last British angler I learned from was probably John Wilson now I get a lot of modern fresh view regarding predator fishing from You so that is great. spring fishing for pike I must say this year when water temp in may was 7 deg I got a great results for slow presentation of bigger lures. That really worked out I havent tried much spinnerbait type of lures though which I will do next year. Following this I have a question regarding monster vibe why do You say it is not good for spring fishing I understand it has Colorado blade but i think it is still good to work it fast as well ? If not when is the good time for slow retrieving of monster vibe in clear lake pike fishing ? I never got any bite to be honest probably it is a bit lack of faith in it 😊 My other question regarding barotraum with pikes some Scandinavian anglers say pike can rise up to 10 meters for lure I wonder if it is possible for pike to regulate pressure in such short time and in which conditions if so ? Regards Maciej

great video as always! have you thoughts about doing a video about barbless vs barbed hooks when catch and release fishing? ive started crushing the barbs on my pike lures recently and It doesnt feel like it makes me lose more fish, but it sure makes getting those deep hooks out way easier.
@Thomhuntfishing

Hi there, to be honest, although catch and release fishing I’ve never found an issue with getting barbed hooks out and don’t have lots of experience with barbless. Occasionally I crush the barbs if in a barbless comp but with lure fishing I rarely get deep hooked fish as it’s so direct. I don’t do much bait fishing any more but when I do that’s usually done with barbless but I’m probably not educated enough on using both styles to do a video. Some say barbed hooks are better as when in they stay put, where as barbless are more prone to moving and tearing the mouth…. Like I said I’m not really sure! 🤷♂️

@@Thomhuntfishing much better. I've moved to lake and river fishing. Caught a decent lake pike last week and one on the river. River pike gave me some fight. Felt like 20lb not 11.5 👊

Am I right to assume that the dates for pike spawning mentioned are typical for SOUTHERN England, and we should wait a little longer in the north before targeting Pike again?
@Thomhuntfishing
3 жыл бұрын
Yes pike spawning it temperature dependant so remote or cold places may be a few weeks, up to a month maybe (max) behind but in general UK is not that big compared to other large countries so roughly happens at the same time

What size trailer hook you add?

Depends on the size of the Spinnerbait but about 1/0 is good for the medium-large size ones 👍🏻
