Just got one of these and agree 100 percent with everything you said. I’m a 1911 guy, but this little pistol is fantastic.

Got mine last week. Haven’t been to the range yet. I have wanted a HP since 1990. Only took 31 years. My suggestion to you is to get one.

Almost impossible to find these in gun stores HOWEVER, a buddy from a gun forum gave me a heads up of one in the mid-state (Tennessee) and I called and snagged it for MRSP (not the $1200 - $1500 I am seeing on Gunbroker) and I have put 150 rounds through it and love it!!!

The "Grand Pissant." At that time it carried thr most rounds per magazine. The P08 Luger and the Walther P38 were both single stack magazines as is the 1911. The Mauser Broom handle was also single stack.

If you're carrying in the truck,or wherever, why not keep it in condition one 'till you get home, then carefully go to condition two?

Absolutely agree on your comment. If I ever get to own one of these it will be very hard not to use it as my EDC

Why even go to condition 2? They were made to be carried cocked and locked, condition 1. When I get home and I'm storing it, then I just unload and clear the chamber. Everytime you hand lower the hammer on a live round is a chance for an AD.

Actually John Browning died in 1926, several years before it was finalized. Dieudonne Saive, his assistant, completed the design as per the French Army's request. The French then turned it down and FN offered it to everyone else. FN called it P35 as it was adopted and ready in 1935. It was called the high power because at the time it held the most capacity at 13 rounds. Just a quick review off Wikipedia would have given you the basics. Dovetail safety? WTF? it's called a beavertail safety. The trigger won't operate unless you bring back the hammer, not "bring back the trigger." Actually you dont need to pull thr hammernback to fire it since racking the slide to chamber the round will rock the hammer to full cock. If you carry it cocked and locked, you just take the safery off with your thumb and fire. No need to pull the hammer back. You only have to hand cock the hammer if you carry it with hammer down.

Damn you are quite the expert. A simple Wikipedia search would have shown you to how arrogant and incorrect a lot of your comment is. Can’t wait to watch your next TV special…

Thr Sig is a good pistol. But its double action. I have bo use for double action pistols. As Jeff Cooper said they are a brilliant solution to a non existent problem. But in terms of reliability and durability, the Browning HP is pretty hard to beat.
