I have the twin to the one you tested, and absolutely love it. Recoil is not an issue, accuracy is phenomenal. It sits near my bed every night and day and often accompanies me in the truck when we travel.

I've been lucky enough to enjoy mine to its fullest since August '05. Everyone I let shoot it falls in love with it. Paid $1,500.00 back then. The price has stayed about the same.

This is my favorite rifle in my collection. I've kept it with iron sights and can still hit steel consistently at 300 yards.

I own one of these beautiful rifles. Im 5’7” and weigh 165 lbs. The recoil is soft in my opinion. I can shoot all day and not feel fatigued. Do yourself a big favor and buy one. Don’t forget to stock up on extra magazines.

Question? What would have happened if today's military or at least one part (any part). Mariners or Army or Navy or Airforce had decided to adopt the SOCCOM 16 instead of what they currently use? General Patton said the M1 Grand was the finnest battle implement. Isn't the SOCCOM from that line of firearm..

They are great guns, look awesome, feel awesome, sound awesome. Fuckin` hell they are heavy though. I dropped the Archangel CQB stock on mine and that lightened it up *a little bit*. The stock was super easy to install and given how incredibly tight the fit is I expect to see a slight improvement in accuracy.

Great video. I love the Garand. Thank God, and good guys with guns, but the Garand has yet to be the focus of anti-gunner. You did nice reloads, something that for me was nearly impossible while moving.

Great video!! With shooting normal 308 ammo have you even encountered any problems with the softer primers on Normal 308?.I own the same rifle and some people say the M14 platforms can sometimes slam fire the next round if not using “NATO” spec primers.

Ive had the scout squad variant for about 13 years now and shoot it religiously. That being said, not once ever have I had a slame fire. Ive used every ammo type you can think if including my handloads which ended uo giving me sub moa...but take to much time to do. Anywho, you’ll be safe with this platform. Cheers!

@cjhyde78 I haven't grouped it, but was able to ring a 6" plate at 200 yds every time with the Trijicon Lego irons. good enough for me. The velocity hit you take versus he scout wasn't enough to scare me away either. the consensus seems to be a Smith Enterprises gas lock and a standard or NM for 22" m14s front or front/rear.

@cjhyde78 It looks like the socom it 1 1/2" shorter than a scout, no idea about a 22" rifle. Just measured the socom at 21" sight radius.
