Love my prodigy. 3 malfunctions under 30 rounds. Haven’t had an issue since. Slide felt perfect after 300 rounds. Replaced mem parts at 600 rounds even though there wasn’t an issue with them. Knocking on 1000 rounds.

Looks like most peoples problems with the Prodigy just involve a little tender love and a break-in period. I’m interested in one at the price that’s for sure…..always been a Glock guy so this is a foot in the door of the 2011 world. Great video dude!

I have had a couple of 1911's. Really considering buying this gun. I have had this exact problem with one of my 1911's because I used lube that was highly recommended for my Glock. I see this whole video as user error because I have been there- the sluggish cycling and failure to eject/load. You used Lube that is too thick for this gun. Great video though! really enjoyed watching you guys shoot. Every failure on the range is training - building muscle memory to clear it quickly

Agreed! It seems like maybe they’re running grease from the factory. I should’ve taken it apart and checked before I shot it to see but I was 500 rounds in before I pulled it apart

Every Springfield pistol I own required a 1-200 round break in. Once they are broken in they are extremely reliable. I’d like to see Springfield figure out their machining to prevent this requirement, but I’d rather break it in with 200+ rounds than pay more for the gun. However, on a $1,500 pistol this should not be an issue. I’ll wait and see on this one. Just my two cents.

Mine only has had one failure to feed and my woman was shooting it. I do think it suffers malfunctions without proper grip, obviously still not good. For this reason alone I would not trust my life on it without some good gunsmith work. Super fun gun at the range as it stands, really soft shooter!

I can't take a firearms channel or a shooter seriously when he brings out two novices, one of which appears to be a child, and has them shooting fucking steel without eye protection. P.S. That gun is trash. I don't call a gun that had like four dozen malfunctions (that we saw) during the course of 500 rounds, "so far so good." I wouldn't even accept that from a dedicated range toy and would never, ever, trust that garbage handgun with my life. Pay $500 bucks more for a Stacatto or grand less for a Glock and get something that goes bang every single time you pull the trigger, and that does not require a three minute long, excuse laden disclaimer at the end justifying the shit performance. This is every review I have seen of this gun. People shoot the bargain basement 2011 knock off and then do all sorts of mental gymnastics trying to explain why it has a malfunction or two minimum for every 100 rounds you crank through it.
@wearetotallyrad

😂😂 you mad? Limp wristing is present with any handgun you shoot. When the gun is only malfunction with a beginner that is still learning how to grip a gun and running flawlessly for experienced shooters I call it like I see it. 🤷🏼♀️

Stacatto's are $700 more and for that you could completely customize the prodigy and up up with a far superior gun. I added an MPA custom aluminum grip, hammer/sear, lightened slide, ported bbl, and came out at the same cost with a completely personalized gun. Have a good new year and enjoy what you shoot.
