Your cabinets are amazing. You are one heck of a carpenter. Nothing like an outdoor kitchen right.👊 You’ll have a good garden this year. Beats would probably work well there also. The greens are good too. Sounds like a great plan for the high tunnel. Love the watering method. Your property is definitely one of my favorites on KZitem. Have a wonderful day..!!

Couldn’t plant too much because I will need working room for the hoops and hoop center supports, etc etc. I do like beets though. My seed collection and garden ideas are bigger than the a available space to garden! Thanks Ron!

Only one piece of steak so you weren't expecting my company 😂😂 I thought maybe my invite was lost in the mail 😂😂😂 Thats a nifty wee garden tool that tilled the soil easily abd made planting a simple exercise. Would the limbs you cut for the new trail not be a good base for filling in the old trail ??!! The chainsaw made quick work of opening up a new trail . You've done a great job of planning out your veggie tunnel and water diversion into a catchment system for watering the plants. I hope you can get the protection up sooner than later to deter the moose etc from eating and trampling your veggies. What's the old saying.... "So much to do and so little time". MANY BLESSINGS ED; GREATLY IMPRESSED WITH YOUR KITCHEN RENO THATS NEARING COMPLETION ALSO 🇦🇺🤗💞🙏✌️👍👏👋🇺🇲

No moose around here but lots of bunnies. I started planting my lettuces and spinach in bottomless rings that I place in my regular garden beds. They are just high enough that the bunnies don't bother the plants. Really love going out the door and picking salad for lunch or dinner! Hope you get some this year. The high tunnel sounds great. Sounds like it will be a great environment for future planting!

Those winches are life savers. I have one on my atv but mostly that one is used to run my snow plow up and down. The one i have on my utv gets used a lot more. Last year i pulled the buck i shot with my bow out of a deep ditch with it. I also use it for winching out fire wood in my woods. I often use small snatch block for heavy winching. Another great video! Keep them coming!!!

Hopefully the moose and snowshoe hare stay away until I can see how things are growing in my soil. Last year I didn’t plant anything until Aug 11th. Way, way too late in the season. Radish took off though. Spinach and lettuce tried to grow but didn’t get past an inch tall before getting stunted. Only one potato plant did ok but the grow season ended when the potatoes were 1” x 1”. Not much bigger than a peanut.

Not sure if you are aware or not, but you can switch which side your refrigerator and freezer open up on. You'd probably find it more convenient if it opened toward a surface you can easily set your items on. I use organic taters from the store. I put them in a paper bag on the counter and let them develop eyes. I then plant the entire tater with the majority of the eyes facing up. Works great and it is super easy and much cheaper than seed taters. That steak looked absolutely perfect. Yummy!

Once you get all the upgrades on the cabin and the garden structure completed, what’s next? Your home is such a beautiful place and so peaceful. What a place to eventually retire too. Hubby & I are excited to be retiring by years end. Our goal is to get out of this hectic city and into the country, where we can hear & see a bit of wildlife. Hope to raise a garden. Good luck with yours.

It looks very nice where you live, but how do you cope with the long cold winters? I live in Norway, southern Norway. We have had a week of cloudy weather, and rain, the temperature is 10-12 degrees Celsius, or 50-54 farenheit, and I am irritated. 4 hours south of us it is summer with around 75 degrees Fahrenheit. I'm weather sick and I need sun. The winters here usually last from Nov-Dec to March-April, and I think it's hard enough. Good that you manage to live in such conditions. Have you ever thought about moving to a warmer place? :)

Never. I actually prefer the winters. But summer here does give you just enough of a break and time to prepare for the next winter. (And blueberries for my pancakes!)

Gorgeous views. And ingenious recycling 😊 Just wondering, with being in a remote location and where the bears outnumber the human, would not your outdoor barbecue scent attract the bears? My kind of dinner minus the peppers.
@MountainMariner
Жыл бұрын
The scents most definitely attract the bears. It’s good practice to clean up very well after grilling. And if the grill is left out the first bear to investigate will likely destroy the grill. So I put it up inside the shower sauna afterward.
