So lemme get this straight McKinley was a high school QB who switched to WR, to play sooner. Newton was a WR who went to QB? I'm confused, but...that was a completely awesome play by Spurrier. THAT is why I love the Gamecocks!

Hey, don't get me wrong. I admire the call but you have to admit that they were very, very fortunate. Either (or both) of those two defenders could have been a couple steps closer and it would have been a disaster. College teams are full of ex-quarterbacks so these plays usually have one making the throw. It's still a long throw for an ex-quarterback to make. They probably practiced it 5 times at most.

@snowball1912 destroyed?? you either know nothing about football, know nothing in general, or need to learn how to give credit when it is due. ONE play changed the whole game. it was Florida 17, Carolina 14. Carolina had the ball in Florida territory, and then the lucky interception that bounced off a FL defender won Florida the game. Carolina played a surprisingly and uncharacteristically good game.

USC would go unbeaten in the Big XII North...South...not so much. They could fare well in either SEC divison because take away Florida and Alabama, nobody in that conference has a shot against USC. Big 10 is going to be exposed in their BCS games just like in 2007 when Ohio State and Michigan got blown out by Florida and USC respectively

Syvelle and my moms are cool... Hes far from trying to get into the NFL, he got drafted back when he graduated to go to the CFL and turned it down. Then went to play AFL football for the georgia force with his brother cam newton, but turned down another contract. From what ive been told, he is lookin more into a music career. so your a little late spurrier07

it wasnt about the record deuche bag....it was the way he was handling things. He was bringing in old gator QBs and thinking he would win in the NFL with them the way he won in college. If you were in DC and saw all the things he did u would also think he doesnt belong in the NFL. No wonder he went back to college.

lol well i mean every practice the team pretty much goes over a couple trick plays for different scenarios. But Syvelle Newton and Kenny McKinley are both really good athletes and they played their assignments correctly on that play. But if they didnt, anything could have happened.

What? Big Ten sucks I know that, but it's really all about the big 12... how many teams in the top 15? Plus, Florida is gonna OWN you guys, there's no question about that. Also, USC is 8-1 and ranked #8 while you guys are 7-2 and ranked #25. Tim Tebow is gonna shit on you guys.
@libertango779

great play, but man that was dangerous. There was hardly any space for the lateral. The ball was threwn out of a bad position. And it was all done too slow, so the receiver and defenders were already in the endzone. There were three different things that could have gone wrong with that play.
@jschob

Yeah, you UK fans have nothing to brag about. Spurrier's what, 15-0 against you? Shut up and take it like men, that play owned, and risks like that are what it takes to be a champion (and watch out, Spurrier may just do that at South Carolina, too). btw Go Vols

as a gamecock fan, i have to ask why wasn't mckinley playing qb? that was a perfect pass off his back foot. i know he is a great receiver but based on our qb play the last couple of years he may have been out of position.
