The Dragonfly is a brilliant design. With the availability of different blade steels and several options of blade shape, it remains both a relevant and attractive option. Light and capable, clever and useful, a masterpiece of design all goes toward the Dragonfly worth the price.

I have a D-fly K390. Took the clip off and added a lanyard. I sharpened it to my standards when it was brand new. That thing has easily cut 100 boxes open and it still just falls through cardboard.

For me it's still my go to edc. I have few newest blades and tbh they are more pocket jewlery for me than a users. The simplicity of plastic handle and lockback is that i can make food prep, or cut something greasy or wet or if my hands are dirty and wet i culd care less. I know when i finish what i do with spyderco dragonfly 2 i just run it trough water and dry it and of i go. From time to time a drop of oil and that is it. If i do something like that with my Civivi Elementum with micarta scales.. Barings are awesom and smooth but if a bit of gunk gets on it you need to clean that like you are cleaning your apartment before your date is coming...

I can appreciate that and hope my video did a good job balancing the pros of the dragonfly with the influx of so many great options in today's market. After owning the dragonfly for 8 years I still own it...which says a lot for the knife.

I put a black standard size wired clip on my Dragonfly. This gives me more stability when gripping. Now i can flip it easily - but looks a little funny with this full size clip lol

Are there “better” knives for the price of a DF2? Yes. I have a few of the marvelously inexpensive Chinese knives, and the granddaddy of modern lightweight knives, the Gerber LST. But none fit so well or work better for my lightweight, EDC needs than a Dragonfly 2. Should I lose this one, I’ll buy another.

As good as the design is, at $75 for vg10 and over $100 for k390 and s30v versions I’m not seeing the value in the DF2. Distributor exclusive Endelas are selling for the same price? It’s a $50 knife in vg10 to me but I guess everyone’s view of a good deal is different.
